Is there an Embroiderers Guild near you? They have workshops frequently. They might give you ideas

Are there any embroiderers here or anyone doing types of textile art? I'm looking for something different to do but local groups only do cross stitch and very traditional stuff. Just looking for inspiration and tips for getting started.
