Done a quick one whilst waiting for the kettle to boil!

The lights of Christmas

Ease the darkness of winter

For just a brief time

It's not hard to see
That this is a difficult
Time of year for some

The warmth from the fire
Commandeered by snoring dogs
No room on the rug

Babysat Friday
Train was running late again
Causing me much stress.

Up there in the loft
My Christmas decorations
They need to come down

The turkey is stuffed
Pigs in blankets are roasted
Nan Kate sips sherry

Up in the night sky
The moon shines brilliantly
Then hidden by clouds

Pots lie in the sink
Waiting for me to wash them
On Gransnet instead

(brillianlty surely has too many syllables for a haiku?[confused)

Am dreading next week
Many things coming at once
Will get through it though

Not sure how many syllables brillianlty has ana but brilliantly has four

With cross words, warmth dies.
The heat of the argument
chills the atmosphere.

PS: I know, it's a bit reflective; but no reflection on any of the above.

No-one's getting cross

Good friends all the same

Not a cross word here
But in the newspaper there
Are a-plenty, see?

At the last minute
Asked to make a Christmas dress
Off to buy fabric!

Drinking tea in bed
Surfing through my IPad now
Planning day is next
