Was shocked to see this anatomically correct knitted piper. I wonder what size of needles would be required!

Witzend Tue 18-Aug-20 16:21:53

?? Still, they’re supposed to go commando under the kilt, aren’t they?
I’m a mite worried about an apparent size discrepancy though - rather more meat than potatoes?

This is brilliant! Love it.

Kalu Tue 18-Aug-20 16:34:37

Fabulous. ??

Admit it Jane you are the naughty knitter! ?

lemongrove Tue 18-Aug-20 16:39:14

I wonder if Selfridges will stock them for tourists?

???

Elegran Tue 18-Aug-20 16:41:47

Is there a link for a pattern?

Jane10 Tue 18-Aug-20 16:58:14

I should have said that I found the pics on Twitter. Apparently the piper is being sold in aid of Macmillan cancer fund. No pattern Elegran. Sorry. You'll just have to work it out for yourself!

Kalu Tue 18-Aug-20 16:59:18

I may just try to copy it from the waist down Elegran ?. Size 2/3mm needles?

annsixty Tue 18-Aug-20 17:04:43

I think the kilt needs to be wee bit longer.
Who would you give it to?

Grannynannywanny Tue 18-Aug-20 17:04:48

Witzend after reading your comment about the meat and potato ratio I think I’ve worked out which Scottish clan. 1/4lb is definitely a McDonald?

Kalu Tue 18-Aug-20 17:23:31

annsixty. DD2 and SiL In Australia would find this hilarious but certainly not to anyone who may be offended.

Anytime now.....an offended Scottish poster, complaining that
Kilt wearing is being made fun of.

Further pics on request grin

Grannynannywanny Tue 18-Aug-20 17:51:25

Let me jump back in and say I’m a proud Scot. I just said it for a laugh, no offence intended!

Billybob4491 Tue 18-Aug-20 17:55:10

Well I wouldnt buy it let alone knit it.

Jane10 Tue 18-Aug-20 18:06:56

I'm Scottish too and from a family of pipers.
The knitted Kama Sutra might just be a step too far!

Elegran Tue 18-Aug-20 18:13:14

I can't see it going on sale anywhere, Billybob so you wouldn't be able to buy it. I wouldn't knit it either (too fiddly and in fine wool) or pay anyone the high price they would ask for it handmade in small numbers (sales numbers, not sizes)
