I still have 2 bits of umbilical cord in an envelope, perhaps they should go on the compost heap, but I just can't throw them out!

They used to give children their appendices to take home after their operation.
I still have my children’s baby teeth. When this was discussed on Mumsnet some parents just threw them away, which shocked me.

Gross. What next? Poo tiaras?

Coprolite jewellery is already a thing.

?
And some artists stick it on the canvas?

Mollygo Fri 20-Aug-21 08:53:32

Etgeltbags1, looking at it in passing, you’d never know. But if you admired it I’m certain they’d tell you! grin

It might make the wearer or the producer happy, good for them but it makes me want to puke?

Itsawelshthing Fri 20-Aug-21 08:01:15

Not for me haha.

Can’t believe this! My husband and I were literally just talking about this too!?. Let us know if your husband finds anything. ?.

It’s up to others what they do, but yuck, not for me. Nor would I want to make a jewellery piece from the ashes of a member of the family, however loved they were when alive.

I did this when breastfeeding mine and then gave them their pieces for their 18th birthday special gift

I think this would have finished mine off, certainly my sons!!!

and mine wink grin

Seriously, I don't care what others do though.

Fanny, I wanted to take one of my dogs ashes on holiday with me blush but my husband said NO! Did you know people use ashes to have tattoos done? I am not sure how it works. I think it's mainly peoples ashes

When my husband was 16, he had his nose broken. Years later, looking through memorabilia with my MIL, there was the old plaster of Paris he’d had on his nose, complete with all the old caked on blood!? my MIL asked if my husband wanted it?. Suffice to say it went straight in the bin.

Don't tell me they're squashing those in a pendant?

Callistemon Mon 16-Aug-21 21:49:18

MissAdventure

They are pretty pieces, but I'd prefer a dairy free version.

That's just nuts MissAdventure!
