I learnt to knit as a child - simple stitches. I knitted a jumper for my husband (then boyfriend) when I was 21. I knitted it so tightly that he had to squeeze himself into it - must have been love. I haven’t knitted since then - over 40 years ago. I recently decided I wanted to start knitting wrist warmers for the knitformentalhealth charity. I couldn’t even remember how to cast on but with the help of YouTube and a very patient knitting friend I have this evening just produced my first pair! That’s not counting the rejects ? The game changer has been being able to read my knitting. Whenever I made a mistake before I just had to start again. Now I can knit back because I can recognise a knit/purl stitch and I can work out where I am. I just need to work out how to pick up stitches now. I think I may be hooked. ?????
