I’m part way through yet another Nativity set for the Gdcs’ school raffle, nothing else this year. Two shepherds, Joseph and one Wise Man plus half another WM done, so still quite a way to go. I find the sheep the worst faff! Too many fiddly little bits.
Should do those first, get them out of the way, but they’re always last.

I just joined a women's crafting group yesterday and made two bead bracelets and a pair of earrings. They do a lot of sewing crafts, knitting and crochet but I hate sewing with a passion, so jewellery making it was grin

Re stockings, a few yrs ago dd asked whether I could knit some for Gdcs.
All the ‘proper’ patterns I found were far too complicated (pattern wise) for me, and/or knitted like ‘proper’ socks, on 4 needles.

Eventually I used a pattern in Jean Greenhowe’s Christmas Special booklet - it’s for a small ornamental one, but easy - knitted in one piece with a seam.

I just made it a lot bigger, double DK on IIRC 5 mm needles instead of single on 3mm, and IIRC more or less doubled the foot measurement and made it much longer.
A white fluffy top, and I stitched on some separately knitted decorations, e.g. a 🎄also from the JG booklet, plus a mini snowman or elf (ditto JG) hanging from the top.

I should have made them a lot bigger still though - they don’t hold half of what FC brings, so they have pillowcases too.

What a lot of lovely ideas. I’m still making my Dickensian Mice and have just looked out a Christmas panel I started quilting years ago - this is the year it gets finished!! I like the idea of that bunting to use up (some of) my yarn stash.

Do please post a pic of your mice when they’re finished!

All your pics are lovely, I do like seeing what everyone’s made.

When my sons were little, I crossed stitched each of them a stocking with a large Santa and their name. As they get married and have children, I cross stitch an ornament in the shape of a Christmas ball that hangs on their stocking with the new addition's name and a Christmas decoration. I am now starting on my 2nd grandson's stocking ball.

I collected the seedheads from the poppies and alliums this year. They are currently hanging upside-down in the shed while they finish drying. I'm looking forward to spraying them and incorporating them into our Christmas vases.

I made some bunting to enter into the Christmas 🎅 decoration category at our village show. There were no other entries! I won! 😂👑💎

Well done, I made yards and yards of Christmas bunting one year (it's gone around the world - not literally!) and I still love it.

I am marking a place so I can view all these lovely items smile

I made two roman blinds this week but I'm yet to put them up

I've just completed a small rug (Readicut wool shop) - started in the early 1970s as a bedside mat. It surfaced when we had to clear the understairs cupboard to give the electrician and plumber access to the meters. It's a yellow and green plaid pattern and it's now in front of the hearth in the front room, a perfect match for the green carpet and yellow walls. I'm very proud of it!

That is lovely!

I’ve made a lot of woollen gnomes for a local children’s charity to sell and I will be making some Christmas wreaths for them too. Pictures of gnomes and one wreath I made last year.

Not here, I'm the least crafty person in the world, my sisters put me to shame!

I’m just finishing off the hems on a pair of grey Bengaline trousers I’ve made (fabric and style line the Roman stretchy ones) and am about to cut out patterns for a jersey V neck winter dress and a teddy knit fabric cosy high neck jumper.

DH has started making Christmas bunting.

That’s reminded me - if anyone’s got a mass of small oddments of yarn to use up, there’s a free pattern for mini knitted Christmas stockings on the Jean Greenhowe website. They’re only about 4” high, and make very attractive bunting if strung together with those mini clothes pegs.
I made some last year - all white tops, but assorted colours and/or stripes for the rest.
I still have a mass of tiddly little oddments though!

Ooh thank you off to take a look - I have so many odd ends of wool that I can't bear to chuck!

PS Loved the wreath and hat above

Gorgeous Christmas wreath, Speclalk!

I'm working towards a couple of craft sales which are booked at the end of November. I've made some Christmas cards and some beaded decorations so far, and some fabric brooches. I'm going to need more stock if I have a table so need to get working harder. I sold one Christmas decoration at a sale in September as I put some Christmas stock out to fill my table!
