What do you all think of this spectacular dress made by a 6th former?

I bet you won't guess what the material is (no cheating! 😁)

I have never watched a series where so many garments are unfinished or botched. In the past each series has had several excellent sewers and even the lesser sewers knew what they were doing.

Fabulous dress but I'm not sure as to the material. It looks a bit satiny.

Fed up with Susie now and how did she manage to sew anything with all that red wool dangling off her.

Susie's fashion style is definitely weird imo.

I agree about Susie. Bit of a show off.
Is Esme all right, does anyone know? She is a bit tremulous at times and her voice shakes.

I spent the day with a fried recently who is stuck in bed recuperating. We watched every series of the Sewing Bee just because we both used to love it.

It was quite startling how different they were from the first to the last. It reminded me of some of my favourites, like the lovely lady from Birmingham who sewed for her daughters, the lovely Welsh lady who had a special deaf sign for Patrick, the medical student from Edinburgh, the Nigerian lady who didn't use patterns, and may more - all extremely talented but also all interesting people with a bit of character who were entertaining to watch.

Have just watched this Tuesday episode, oh dear, although loved the crocodile, but no really oustanding sewing skills, I thought Susie would go,let's see what next week brings, but who sews their own bras and pants 😂 .

I once had a go at making myself some French knickers in brown satin, but I don’t think I ever finished them. It was a long time ago. They could well still be in my rag bag, but I doubt they’d fit me now.

That dress is very impressive, Callistemon, but I can’t even hazard a guess as to what it’s made from.

Any more guesses? On a postcard to arrive by the closing date which is probably tomorrow.

Callistemon213 I will have a guess at paper. The cut outs on the overskirt remind me of the paper dressing up dolls of my childhood. Plastic bottles can also be recycled into clothing, so possibly that. I am doubtless wide of the mark. It's very impactful whatever it is.

Callistemon213 I think it’s possibly/probably paper like Sarnia suggested. It’s lovely whatever it’s made from.

I d go for paper too is it on a doll surely no one has a waist like that 🤣🤣

I think the dress some sort of satin, the overskirt video tapes.
The lady who made those fantastic trousers seems to be most consistent and follows instructions, others don't and some the finished items not good.

I saw this some of this Callistemon but I missed the first part. I can only guess it was made of something to do with what her earrings and necklace were made of.

Callistemon Love that dress. Saw it on the News. That young girl deserves to go far as a designer. I know what it's made of so won't do a big reveal.

Re Bee, I thought Suzy looked like she was wearing a recycled floor mop dyed red for that cardigan. Ridiculous and I'm surprised it didn't get trapped in the sewing machine.

I have a feeling Susie is on there to promote some sort of designer clothes business. The trouble is if she's sewing the things I wouldn't want one.
