Apparently it is to cheer everyone up after all the miserable world events.

I love them all, the cat was so well done I thought, but I love the pelicans stealing the fish shops fish😄

Hope there is more to come

Me too, shame the cat’s been dismantled.

A little bit of light in some dark times lately.

D3 and SIL can see this from one of their back bedroom windows.
(It’s a jolly good chippy too! )

And hasn't one been stolen? Obviously with a view to selling it.
Banksy's stuff us a victim of it's own success.

Typo correction "is" not "us".

Whitewavemark2 Sun 11-Aug-24 09:05:54

mae13 who knows. I would like to think that the proceeds goes into Banksy’s charity.

Does nobody seriously not know who he is? This sort of thing is impossible to do especially in a city. There is always someone around. It’s fun but I don’t believe nobody witnesses it being done. Even in my small town someone is out and about in the early hours.

keepingquiet Sun 11-Aug-24 09:33:37

Adds to the mystique though doesn't it? I douby we'd get one where I live but this is an open invitation...!

Whitewavemark2 Sun 11-Aug-24 11:32:47

No but we get an idea about his political beliefs from his charity.

Chestnut Sun 11-Aug-24 14:59:42

Sorry, just don't get what is so wonderful about these which could be done with a stencil and a spray gun.

Now this is what I call street art, just amazing.

Jaxjacky Sun 11-Aug-24 15:49:50

It’s more the surprise and the pertinence Chestnut.

He has spotters standing guard to ensure noone's around. Whilst there's much speculation about who is Banksy (and one name particularly is always mentioned) his identity has never been confirmed, possibly to avoid charges of criminal damage.

He's reputed to be rich so maybe he can afford to bribe anyone who sees him? I also find it hard to believe he's hardly ever witnessed.
I know he once 'decorated' a tube carriage with his trademark rats - public transport, so someone MUST have seen him?

I hate street art, it makes everywhere look so run down and tacky.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 11-Aug-24 16:24:31

Given the amount of money people are prepared to pay for a Banksy original then not everyone agrees.

I don't expect everyone to agree, just my opinion.

Banksy’s not just a self-publicist — he’s one of our great artists

Graffiti makes an area look rundown but not a Banksy.
His work enhances urban areas.

Gwyllt Sun 11-Aug-24 16:56:11

I’ve got a lovely cream wall, well it would be if I painted it. I keep hoping Banksy will turn up unannounced on night

Jaxjacky Mon 12-Aug-24 14:07:43

Yours Gwyllt? 🙂 the latest

Wyllow3 Mon 12-Aug-24 14:20:56

I love his work, my guess (confirmed above) was that he had spotters. it's witty, it cheers urban spaces unlike a lot of graffiti.

These latest Banksy's certainly cheered me up. They were so witty and well done. Just bringing a smile to people's faces. Well done that man whoever he is.
