Apparently it is to cheer everyone up after all the miserable world events.

I love them all, the cat was so well done I thought, but I love the pelicans stealing the fish shops fish😄

Hope there is more to come

I love his work.

I believe he was using a scaffold type vehicle, there was a photo of this at one of the sites of a new Banksy last week .

I just don't really rate those stencils at all. But these make me smile. So clever and so skilled.

Sorry, just don't get what is so wonderful about these which could be done with a stencil and a spray gun.

Now this is what I call street art, just amazing.

Those are great, but Banksy’s latest is also more detailed …

Another Banksy fan here. They have made me smile, so different, random and with humour.

JaneJudge Mon 12-Aug-24 14:58:26

yes, it did look like stencils may be made prior to

I quite like all of them

Wyllow3 Mon 12-Aug-24 14:49:44

(or whatever the right word is for paper with the image cut out inside it ready!)

Wyllow3 Mon 12-Aug-24 14:48:50

He must be using pre-prepared paper silhouettes to get them done so quickly.

I hate street art, it makes everywhere look so run down and tacky.

Me too !!!

In France where I am some of the bridges over the motorways are wood-pannelled and have black silhouette animal cut-outs. I love these because they always cheer me up.
The current Banksys remind me of those.

Aveline Mon 12-Aug-24 14:24:36

These latest Banksy's certainly cheered me up. They were so witty and well done. Just bringing a smile to people's faces. Well done that man whoever he is.

Wyllow3 Mon 12-Aug-24 14:20:56

I love his work, my guess (confirmed above) was that he had spotters. it's witty, it cheers urban spaces unlike a lot of graffiti.

More pix and news about which ones taken down here

He is pretty popular....

Yours Gwyllt? 🙂 the latest

I’ve got a lovely cream wall, well it would be if I painted it. I keep hoping Banksy will turn up unannounced on night

Boz Sun 11-Aug-24 16:49:13

Graffiti makes an area look rundown but not a Banksy.
His work enhances urban areas.

Given the amount of money people are prepared to pay for a Banksy original then not everyone agrees.

I don't expect everyone to agree, just my opinion.

Of course

Thought you would be interested in this story from The Times

Banksy’s not just a self-publicist — he’s one of our great artists

Skydancer

Does nobody seriously not know who he is? This sort of thing is impossible to do especially in a city. There is always someone around. It’s fun but I don’t believe nobody witnesses it being done. Even in my small town someone is out and about in the early hours.

He's reputed to be rich so maybe he can afford to bribe anyone who sees him? I also find it hard to believe he's hardly ever witnessed.
I know he once 'decorated' a tube carriage with his trademark rats - public transport, so someone MUST have seen him?

He has spotters standing guard to ensure noone's around. Whilst there's much speculation about who is Banksy (and one name particularly is always mentioned) his identity has never been confirmed, possibly to avoid charges of criminal damage.

It’s more the surprise and the pertinence Chestnut.

No but we get an idea about his political beliefs from his charity.
