I’d started it for Gdcs’ primary school raffle - I’ve made a couple for their 🎄raffles before - they’ve always gone down well.
But found out the other week that they’re not having a raffle this year! Only a tombola, and I’m not donating it for that.

I asked dd to ask younger Gdd’s teacher whether they’d like it for the classroom (Y1, it’s a C of E school) or for anywhere else in the school, but haven’t heard yet.
We shall see

PS, little Gdd2’s teacher has said they’d love to have it for the classroom, so 🙂!

Hi. Yes my MIL did do a couple of sets for us. One I kept as so beautifully done and the other to a RC school. I hope they still have it.

That is really gorgeous OP. They are mad not to snap it up

That's absolutely lovely, wish I had it. So clever to make such a thing.

That’s beautiful! I have one, but I didn’t knit it myself. I call it my “Knitivity” Mine includes an Angel too.

GardenofEngland Wed 26-Nov-25 14:31:40

I have knitted that nativity as well. I have since added an angel and a camel. My daughter loves it.

GardenofEngland Wed 26-Nov-25 14:33:56

My image doesn't upload?

I agree with everyone else that it’s a fabulous piece of work. Well done! Just don’t let anyone use it as a postbox topper. These are becoming more and more intricate and clever, but of course they now get stolen the minute they’re put in place. Disgusting behaviour!

Soozikinzi Wed 26-Nov-25 15:14:39

Thats absolutely beautiful any church, nursery or school.will snap it up I'm sure .

I couldn't agree more! As an ex-teacher (Early Years) I would have loved such a beautiful resource. Hope the school take you up on your offer!

Just beautiful. What a clever person you are!

Wyllow3 Wed 26-Nov-25 15:28:45

Love that camel, GardenofEngland

I do admire you knitters.

Fabulous work!

Mojack26 Wed 26-Nov-25 16:17:51

I think tha's lovely! I think that is bad of teacher not to have replied! I was a teacher and am shocked at no response to a kind gesture. I hope it's not because of 'wokery' I love it and we are 'multi cultural' as we keep getting told!

Flick1 Wed 26-Nov-25 16:28:29

Witzend - just gorgeous smile

HappyNan1 Wed 26-Nov-25 17:24:44

What beautiful knitted nativity sets. 🌟🌟

rocketstop Wed 26-Nov-25 17:27:15

All beautiful and very clever of you knitters, am so jealous of your skill.

I once added an ox to the Gdcs’ set - not from a Jean Greenhowe pattern - he never would stand up properly. One day I must remake his legs like the JG donkey’s - he always stands up! JG patterns are brilliant, they always just WORK!

No, dd had just forgotten to ask. Teacher has said it’d be lovely to have it, so little Gdd will be taking it to school on Monday - I have to take it to her first, they live 60 miles away.

Has your granddaughter already a set? If not give her it.

A set for the Gdcs was the first I ever made - around 8 years ago now. They’re now 10, 9 and 5. It’s still in pretty good nick, with the stable I also made, despite their ginger puss Tiggy finding it a great place for a nap!

grandMattie Wed 26-Nov-25 18:56:25

Lovely! I have made several for my vicar daughter, for the Sunday school teacher, etc. I had to”manufacture” angels for DD, but haven’t got the pattern for a donkey. Would someone send it to me please?

Esmay Wed 26-Nov-25 20:18:35

It's absolutely lovely-well done !
I opened a box ,which has been left for about a decade and something has munched its way through my nativity set !
It was a wooden one .
I'd certainly buy a raffle ticket or two for your nativity.set.

Gorgeous! I love the little sheep!

Drewntee Thu 27-Nov-25 07:44:34

Wow that is amazing. Very clever indeed. It’s so charming I can’t stop looking at it. I’m sure little ones would love to gaze at it so hopefully the school will accept it. If not I will buy it!!
