I’d started it for Gdcs’ primary school raffle - I’ve made a couple for their šŸŽ„raffles before - they’ve always gone down well.
But found out the other week that they’re not having a raffle this year! Only a tombola, and I’m not donating it for that.

I asked dd to ask younger Gdd’s teacher whether they’d like it for the classroom (Y1, it’s a C of E school) or for anywhere else in the school, but haven’t heard yet.
We shall see…

Witzend Why are you so averse to selling it? there are loads on Ebay and people sell them on Etsy too. The better knitted ones can command a much higher price too. Then you can donate the money to a charity of your choice (or even to your GC's School. I myself knitted one a few years ago. I added an angel, a donkey and a camel. However I put wire armatures in mine so I could bend the arms so not suitable as toys. I sold mine for £60.00. I have since seen them sell for over £100. I started another set last year but I am no where near finishing it. I know how much work is involved with these so don't sell yourself short! Here a a few pictures of mine.

Your pics are gorgeous, Silverlady - and I absolutely love your camel! However I’m not ā€˜selling myself short’ - I don’t make them for money, only for fundraising, or for e.g. a school - a previous one went to the Gdcs’ pre school. I’ve been asked to make them to order, but given the sheer amount of work, I’d want to charge a lot more than anyone would ever pay!

The latest was my last, anyway - I will be back to knitting for Knit for Nowt now.

Bests on knitting for nowt. I'm sure it will find its home, Witzend.

Really lovely, Silverlady - some great detail in there.
