It is just meant to be a bit of light hearted entertainment. Does it really matter who the celebrities are or whether or not you've heard of them Just watch with festive spirit and enjoy or be a Grinch and do something else.
Exactly, it is a bit of fun, but it is a total misnomer to call it 'celebrity' Sewng Bee, when no one has heard of the people taking part. To be a 'celebrity' you have to be well known within the audience you attract. I doubt using celebrities only known, for example, to the 15-25 year olds is going to mean lots of people in that age group watch a programme like this.
I think we should complain to Ofcom
Like Strictly, I work on the theory that I should know half the celebs on today's Sewing Bee, and that in my DGD's house, they'll recognise the other half, and so are more likely to watch. George's wide young fan base as an influencer, on Strictly supports that? He said on Saturday, he'd never been on TV before.
Surely it's to deliberately broaden the appeal.
