Any ideas about unconventional romantic couples in prose or drama? (Not Shakespeare!) DGD and I are trying too hard, I think. For tomorrow!! A Level English.

I know one (or more) of you will have a brilliant idea. grin

I have read all the books you mention, Micelf, with the exception of Sacred Hearts. Do you recommend it - I can get most books from Amazon.

Oh absolutely! It's beautifully written, the historical research is precise, and it's a total page turner. And the ending is something else.

Tristan and Isolde is one of my favourites. Very romantic but also very sad

Ariadne Mon 30-Sep-13 21:17:59

I am very taken with that book too, MiceElf and I shall look for it. So thanks for that too!

I'll let you know what P finally chose to talk about.

BTW, there is a photo of her in my profile - just look for the hair!

annodomini Mon 30-Sep-13 21:27:20

And what hair! So luxuriant and glossy! Some people have all the luck!

annodomini Mon 30-Sep-13 21:31:30

I've put your recommendation on my wish list, Mice. It sounds right up my street.

On second thoughts, it's available second hand on Amazon for only a penny more than the cost of postage. Much cheaper than the Kindle price. So that will soon join the pile of books waiting under my bed - and may be a candidate for our book group.

I hope you all enjoy it - I feel responsible now!

Abelard and Heloise? I've always had a soft spot for Daphnis and Chloe although I don't suppose a modern teenager would believe a couple could be so innocent.
