Anyone had breakfast yet? I can't decide - but it will involve eggs.

Think I'll have an espresso in the meantime - decisions, decisions. brew

I make my own muesli in huge batches that lasts for a month or two, and keep it in plastic tubs. It's crammed full of delicious things, including various nuts but no sugar and, although I only have a small bowl, keeps me going all morning. I do love scrambled eggs too and have them when I have time! Definitely tea though. Lots of tea! brew grin

Croissants with butter & peach jam as it is the weekend. Melon or nectarines on a weekday until the porridge season starts in a few weeks time.

I always eat breakfast but just have a cup of tea and muesli. I never enjoy a full English first thing in the morning, just too much.

Tea, it's all about the Tea

I had chicken and sweetcorn soup for my breakfast today, it's what I fancied and was lovely. Then I had a cream cake later on, scrummy. smile

Hi Riverwalk,

I'm a bit of a health freak and still work. I have ground flax (doesn't give you highs and lows), all the seeds I can find, dried fruit, nuts and oat bran. Weekends are different when I like smoked haddock with a poached egg, grapefruit and toast and lemon curd! Yum!

Well, I fancied scrambled eggs on toast with a nicely presented toy boy to follow............but got visit from DD and her brood so have crumbs of everything, everywhere..........the kids went through the card, twice I think, cereals, fruit, muffins, yoghurts........then a fry up. The dog and I were very pleased to see them.

grannyactivist and Greyduster, According to my mother, (we are definitely northern) anything soaked in milk till it's sloppy was pobs so weetabix gone soggy is pobs. I think I'd have trouble swallowing bread and milk.

I'm a 5:2 devotee and avoid eating till 6pm on fasting days because food makes me hungry! On those days, my breakfast (taken at 6pm) is my main meal and is a modified version of Rick Stein's Gigantes recipe. On the other five days, my breakfast is at 10.30am and is usually a Warburton's crumpet with lots of butter.

lizzypopbottle Sat 24-Sept-16 13:38:28

And a cup of coffee...

NonnaAnnie Sat 24-Sept-16 15:04:28

I've not had breakfast for about three months now. Intermittent fasting diet. Lunch at 12:30ish. Have lost 12 pounds and never feel hungry once I got used to not eating breakfast.

I miss my porridge sometimes so have some for lunch now and then.

Scrambled eggs on toast with granary bread.

Lindajoy Sat 24-Sept-16 16:35:12

Sainsbury's Balance cereal with red fruits, soya milk, blueberries and a couple of spoonfuls of lemon yoghurt today. Sometimes 2 boiled eggs and wholemeal toast Sometimes porridge with blueberries or banana. Depends how I feel and how much time I have.

A Nutribullit for me.

Which usually comprises of handful of spinach, half an avocado, half a banana,
Blueberries, raspberries and any other fruits lying around that need to be used up.

I also try to put more veg in if there is room in the beaker.

I find it quite satisfying until lunchtime.

Legs55 Sat 24-Sept-16 21:43:56

Porridge for me with a little syrup, blueberries & raspberries - not allowed cereals as I am Type 2 Diabetic (got a lecture about sugar in cereals!!), glass of fruit juice & mug of Marmite (weak in hot water) - I can hear you all going "Yuk". Have to eat Breakfast as I need to eat to take my medication.

Coffee mid morning. Scrambled egg is a Lunch-time snack for me, or sometimes on a Sunday full "fry up" (only eggs are fried!) hmm

whitewave Sat 24-Sept-16 21:45:52

Nothing! What I've eaten this evening will be enough until at least Monday morningconfusedblushshock

mancgirl Sat 24-Sept-16 21:46:27

Odd adding this at this time of night but 2 weetabix, chopped banana and blueberries followed by a cup of tea. Pobs must be a northern thing - you'll guess from my name! - but it was a favourite when we were children! White bread and warm milk. Couldn't eat it now though!

whitewave Sat 24-Sept-16 21:49:50

No! The name may be but not the dish. We ate it in Cornwall.

mrswoo Sun 25-Sept-16 17:21:51

2 slices of whole meal toast and Marmite, a Babybel, some baby tomatoes and a Yakult. Sometimes a small glass of V8 juice but not today as we had run out.

On days when I work I make a fruit salad of satsumas, grapefruit, grapes and sometimes pineapple or kiwi, take it with me and eat it before the madness starts.

rubylady Sun 25-Sept-16 22:58:47

I had chocolate truffle profiteroles this morning! Scrummy. grin

rubylady Sun 25-Sept-16 23:38:17

We used to have pobs, not had it for ages though so that might be back on the menu soon. Thanks for reminding me, I loved it. smile

DanniRae Mon 26-Sept-16 09:38:48

Glad you're thinking of trying pobs again (bread and milk to me) rubylady - I was beginning to feel that I was weird because I still, occasionally, have it for breakfast!

Parsleywin Mon 26-Sept-16 10:13:06

This is a 5:2 day, so have had a small mug of hot water followed by a large mug of tea. smile Will have more of the same during the day, then a small meal sometime after 6pm.

Jane10 Mon 26-Sept-16 10:37:31

I'm having a 5:2 day too. Smoked salmon and a poached egg for me and that's it apart from lots of peppermint tea until this evening. Its not too bad!

BBbevan Wed 28-Sept-16 08:23:20

We do LCHF eating. So I had egg and bacon and DH a smoked salmon omelette. I don't much like smoked salmon.

Greyduster Wed 28-Sept-16 09:20:50

I might have a slice of chocolate brownie this morning in the interests of seeing if it is fit to serve as a pudding when our friend comes for lunch - had a few minor difficulties with the melting process yesterday!!!! shock. If it isn't I'll have to ask DH to make his signature dish - jelly!
