Abortions have always taken place, one way or another. The only difference now is that they will be performed legally and safely.

Quite honestly, I don't think it's any of your business what other women choose to do.

There has also been a whole long thread about this subject which you might like to peruse. www.gransnet.com/forums/news_and_politics/1248475-Repeal-the-8th

Serkeen you state I personally do not know why the celebrations. To me abortion means the taking of a life
Nanabilly says
I do agree with abortion if the foetus is known to be faulty or carry some incurable condition that will mean a poor quality of life or death immediately after birth or early in life
and you say
yes Nanabilly exactly my opinion too
confused
What Nanabilly is talking about is one of the changes to the abortion law in Eire which will now be legal but was not heretofore . Is that not progress?
So what is your opinion?

Wasn’t this discussed before?

According to Fact Check 3,264 women from Ireland had abortions in England in 2016.

No way were all these babies with health problems and the result of rape, these were the reasons some put forward to support legalising abortion in Ireland

Why are you changing the subject? I don’t think abortion on account of the baby’s sex is at issue here, so why bring this up? And how irrelevant to ask how an unborn child might have voted?

Speaking as the mother of one who was devastated to have to have a much wanted pregnancy terminated because the foetus was so badly “damaged” it might not even have made it to term or beyond a matter of hours, would you rather a mother had to go on carrying a baby that was going to die?
What part of the law in Eire as it stood did you approve of?

Yes Nanabilly exactly my opinion too

I disagree with abortion just as a birth control but I do agree with abortion if the foetus is known to be faulty or carry some incurable condition that will mean a poor quality of life or death immediately after birth or early in life.
I do not agree with it being used because the baby is the wrong sex.

PS.. How awful must it be for the Doctors that perform abortion because after all they spend 7/9 years of their precious lives learning how to SAVE people lives

Can I be so bold as to say that I personally do not know why the celebrations. To me abortion means the taking of a life.

A life/person that gets no voice no say in the matter of THEIR life at all

And IMHO can be avoided pregnancy is avoidable.

So what's going on here sad

Lastly I ask you what do you think the in born child would have voted sad
