Which is the best Quality Street?

Tensions are running high at HQ. So far we're debating the merits of the yellow toffee finger, the purple one and the green triangle. Shall we do an unscientific poll on here and decide which is the most popular?

Gold toffee ! But can’t have them anymore as they have a habit of breaking my teeth.

Lynne59 Fri 07-Dec-18 18:49:48

The big purple one, definitely.

EllanVannin Fri 07-Dec-18 18:54:11

I don't like them. Those and Rose's smell horrible when you take the lid off-----puts me right off them.

They were better when they were in tins and made by Macintosh.

The purple one for me! DH and I recently did the York Chocolate Tour during which we were offered a Quality Street each. The guide hunted out a purple one for me while everyone else meekly took what they were given!

Never quite seen the appeal of Quality Street sad
Perhaps more research is needed? ??

The purple one informed me in Christmas Day a few years ago that I have a nut allergy. shock

So the toffee in chocolate is my favourite... but it’ll cost me a fortune in dentists bills early in 2019! grin

Perhaps it stems from the days where there wasn't so much choice MawBroon - it was a contest between Quality Street and Roses.

MawBroon Fri 07-Dec-18 23:27:18

I don’t think I was treated to either as a child.
Best we ever got was a tin of shortbreadsad

Jalima1108 Fri 07-Dec-18 23:30:14

My Dad always bought Roses - they came in large glass jars in those days and I still use the jars to store pasta etc.

These days I would rather have a small amount of really good chocolate instead.

However, I could force down Quality Street if the good chocolate isn't available. grin

Definitely the purple one with the nut inside, closely followed by the green triangle. With the QS containers being sooooo small now, it is unlikely I will taste either this year! Especially as we usually favour the Heroes selection.

I love the coffee ones, my very favouritest(!) chocolate. I would pay good money for a whole box of coffee creams.

That’s the spirit Jalima - that’s what made Britain Great!

Sorry QS lovers I find them sickly and synthetic. Like EllanVannin the smell puts me off.

JessK Sat 08-Dec-18 10:05:53

They were discussing this on the BBC this morning. Apparently there are less of the favourites in each box these days to try and make us buy bigger boxes!

MawBroon it's what made my hips a bit greater than they should be too!!
Although I admit to eating only one bar of good chocolate in the past five months and not another choc has passed my lips - and it hasn't made a jot of difference sad

My local John Lewis has a pick-your-favourites stand. Take a tin and fill it with the ones you like. Brilliant.

cavewoman Sat 08-Dec-18 15:24:21

Orange crunch

Witzend You must have at least four different varieties though.

ajanela Sat 08-Dec-18 16:12:16

The purple one.

Anmar Sun 09-Dec-18 19:59:25

The green triangle definately, with a chaser of the purple one! Yummy.

Flaxseed Sun 09-Dec-18 21:50:45

Toffee Penny here tchsmile

seacliff Sun 09-Dec-18 21:53:40

Green triangle, but I also love the coffee and the orange crunch.

Eloethan Sun 09-Dec-18 23:37:58

The triangle - It's green I think.

Purple and green, but my favorite in any box is coffee. At one time you could buy an extra large big purple or big green one on their own, have not seen any recently.
