Evening all, sending good wishes.

I would like to take and post a photo of this year's attempt with our Trees, but the ones I have taken with my tablet are not very good. tchblush

Any hints or tips would be much appreciated!

I have just had a try with my Samsung tablet. The result looks similar to any taken with my camera although it doesn't zoom in well, not enough pixels I presume. The only tree I have this year is my home made knitted one from a pattern seen on GN last year, so not a good test.
I would be interested to see your tree efforts Phoenix even if you are not happy with the pics, also any from other members.

Thank you shysal looks good! I'm afraid that when it comes to knitting, sewing, crochet etc , I'm hopeless!

Do you think that trying a photo with the tree lights turned off would work better?

Newmom101 Sun 16-Dec-18 18:51:18

phoenix have you tried it with the tree lights on and the room dimly lit? Ours looks quite good photographed with the tree lights on and just the lamp lighting up the room.

Mine took a better picture with the light on.
As you can see, I am a fan of the Tinsel, much to my Dd and Dgd's disdain.
But my 10 year old Dgs tells me that my tree is the best.
I'm happy with that!

Taken with my tablet , played around with the settings till I was happy with the photos! Not perfect but I'm no professional ☺

I will have to have a few more attempts, but have a feeling that this year's Christmas tree(s) may not be to many GN members taste!

I'm intrigued too.

In our house we have 3 ! My DD always opts for all white decs and SIL always buys her the latest Swarovski baubles. In the conservatory we have a minimalistic twig complete with woodland creatures which the GC love, then in my annexe I opt for a shabby chic designer twig ....

Difficult to photograph a tree, flash or no flash, overhead light on or just lamps ?

GabriellaG54 Mon 17-Dec-18 21:06:26

Use your mobile. Mine works better than my swanky Canon camera which is too complicated to just point and click.

Such beautiful decorations!

I haven't even bought a tree yet. I don't have a mobile phone and have no idea where the camera is. Oh dear!

I love the knitted tree. Is the pattern still available? (For next year!) They all look lovely

Mapleleaf Tue 18-Dec-18 14:25:30

Lots of lovely looking trees here. tchsmile

seaside, the knitted tree is on this site. You will need to scroll down to the 2017 red baubles for the week by week patterns. It seems week 10 (the toy soldier) is missing but if you do decide to go for it I could Email you a copy of the page. There is a crochet version on there too from 2016.

Off to work but will post more later - I love photo threads!

This is my toothpick tree my daughter and I made a long time ago! Every year it loses more and more "needles" but I just love it!

Willow500 Tue 18-Dec-18 17:58:51

Fab photos! I've just used my phone camera - my iPad is pretty poor for photos. These are mine this year - I'm a bit obsessive about decorations grin

Grannyknot Tue 18-Dec-18 20:32:41

I'm being mercilessly teased about this (rather creepy) one as in:

He knows when you are sleeping ... ??

Willow500 Tue 18-Dec-18 21:11:14

Grannyknot that is erm ....... different grin On closer inspection are they rollers on the sleeper's head and a dog in bed? The look on Santa's face is hilarious. I love it!

Grannyknot Tue 18-Dec-18 21:55:29

Yes, there is a dog tucked in under the covers, and she does have rollers in her hair grin

I kinda like it too.

Trying! Basically, 3 twig trees, with silver and white decorations.
