I'm on the wagon (ish) so just having a yet another bloody lovely cup of tea smile

Used to be a lovely chilled dry white wine but one has to make sacrifices in search of the body beautiful!

Just had a cup of tea, and as soon as I can get off of this laptop, I'll put a bottle of alcohol free beer in the fridge to cool to have with dinner.

I prepared to battle this day at noon
The teabag and me, in my hand a spoon
And the kettle was boiled, the steam escaped
And into the cup the teabag was placed
The scalding began, and quickly followed
By the spoon, prodded in all bags hollows
The teabag objected to harsh harassment
As it twirled and whirled then was squashed and bent
Extracting the flavour, I poked it some more
while teabag was plotting to even the score
It floated up top and without respect
All the leaves that it carried it did eject
Now the brew was spoilt, I lowered my head
And reached for the coffee jar instead.

Had about 1.5 litres sparkling water today because it’s 29c in Istria! I really should drink more ! No alcohol since 1996. July to be precise. Although might have had an accidental alcohol soaked tiramisu once! Lol.

?
Its a glasss of South African Pinotage for me, sitting in the garden, which is very unusual in the north this particular summer.

Congratulations Dolcelatte ! ??. So much to look forward to !

nanamac77 Tue 06-Aug-19 18:50:32

Tap water kept in a jug in the fridge door - so it's iced.

sarahanew Tue 06-Aug-19 18:57:17

Green tea, black coffee, lots of water, warm milk with cinnamon and honey, the odd latte, tonic water with ice and a slice if I'm out, occasionally with gin

Overthehills Tue 06-Aug-19 19:09:20

Thankyou Jane10 I like the sound of that! Let’s hear it for sour pusses everywhere!

Fennel Tue 06-Aug-19 19:16:22

Tap water too - but after something a little stronger
previously.
I've just had my supper.
Congrats Dolcelatte!

MissAdventure Tue 06-Aug-19 19:17:07

A glass of coke now.
Its lovely!

Evie64 Tue 06-Aug-19 19:43:18

Mmmm, now you have me thinking, either a pint of Dragons Tears (a local Devon cider) or a large Vodka, lime and tonic with lots if ice. Mmmm grin

varian Tue 06-Aug-19 19:47:52

Water, out of the tap, is good for you, costs nothing, is delicious/ I drink a lot of it, as well as some tea and some wine, but more water than anything else.

Funnygran Tue 06-Aug-19 19:54:41

Just finishing a mug of caffeine free tea, the Yorkshire one is really good. I’m not a fan of squash or fizzy drinks and really wish I could get into drinking plain tap water. My DD drinks loads of it but I have to remind myself to top up. G&T later, found a miniature rhubarb and ginger gin in Sainsbury’s this afternoon which I couldn’t resist.

giulia Tue 06-Aug-19 20:07:25

looeleaf PG Tips with soy milk for breakfast; two litres of Brita filtered tap water up until 4 pm, a cool glass of Almond drink or oat drink with added Moka coffee during the day. I used to love making up cocktails (am famous for them) but must drink alcohol no more.

Doodle Tue 06-Aug-19 20:09:09

Two glasses of red wine and a small coffee following a large meal. Full up ?

HillyN Tue 06-Aug-19 20:12:46

On holiday and rather overdid the wine last night so drank lots of water or peach squash today (it has been over 30 degrees here). However I'm just finishing had a pear cider with my evening meal.

leeds22 Tue 06-Aug-19 20:12:55

DH brings me a cup of China Rose Petal tea to bed every morning. Then its several coffees during the day + water, evening meal usually accompanied by a G&T or alcohol free beer - there are some really good ones available now.

Grandmama Tue 06-Aug-19 20:13:37

Right now a cup of Coop 99 loose tea made in a teapot by Grandpapa.

Grandmama Tue 06-Aug-19 20:13:53

PS bone china cup of course.

MissAdventure Tue 06-Aug-19 20:15:13

Another coke!
I shall be glad when its gone.

WOODMOUSE49 Tue 06-Aug-19 20:20:00

2nd glass of Sainsbury's Pinot Grigio Blush. Been a frustrating day.

Liz46 Tue 06-Aug-19 20:28:25

We've had two young GC today. They have gone and I am drinking brandy. Back on duty tomorrow! I think I am now too old for a 4 year old boy.
