At east the nurse didn't say 'Just a little prick'. The doctor I used to work with had to be discouraged from using the term, He couldn't see why it was wrong or funny!

Thank you very much for your concerns, but sorry to be home from hospital where I've been living the high-life for nigh on 3 weeks! Three square meals a day, elevenses, threesies, evening milkshakes with bickies, menus fit for a king (well me anyway!) and room for add-ons, e.g. scrambled eggs for breakfast, but I didn't push my luck by asking for snags and bacon.!
What was wrong with me?
"Down Under" wasn't far off the mark, although not sure if this meant geographically or anatomically, but either way it covered "Feet"! not nice to look at and not the sort of thing you'd want to kiss better; even the nurses would balk at that!
"Lipidermatosclerosis" I've had it mildly for a couple of years, but it began to look worse so off to my GP (Dr.Lee) who referred me to lymphoedema specialist (Dr. Soo) who wanted me into hospital straightaway! Well, I need some procrastination time at moments like that and managed to delay admission to the next morning (Sat.), but then nothing happened until Mon. I think he was an alarmist or regarded me as the fly caught in the spider's web!
Nurses were fantastic and each had two student nurses to show the ropes; they do 4 weeks hands on in a hospital and are then qualified R.N.s able to work anywhere in Victoria. Most of them were from Asian countries and although they could train back home Aussie credentials are apparently more highly regarded.
One nurse in particular "Marie Claire" was lovely, she couldn't be anything else with a name like that, and whenever she approached I took to "crooning" my favourite Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Claire, the moment I saw you..." etc. Oh dear! If only I was 70 years younger!
Not that it did me any good. Whenever a nurse says "just a small sting" when searching for a vein in the wrist in which to stick the inevitable cannula it seems to be code for "get ready to hit the ceiling"
And in spite of my pleading, they wouldn't let me stay another week even though our weather forecast is diabolical for at least this week. More like an English summer.
Anyway, they didn't extend their echogram scans to my head nor extract any grey cells, although you might beg to differ. Having been relegated to "OUTPATIENT" status I now have to get my own dinner.

Haven’t seen him lately either. I don’t think he’s pm’able as he had a problem with them.
