Good morning all, and good wishes!

I bought 2 C..... decorations very cheaply on our village facebook page. One of them is a sort of wicker Father C, but I feel that he needs more "filling" in his body, as it seems to have settled at the bottom.

Now, it would be pretty easy to poke some more in through the framework, and it's probably perfectly possible to buy it on line, if only I knew what the damn stuff was called! blush

It looks a bit like long horsehair and is red (he has the same stuff but white in his face, and that's fine, it's just his body that I think needs a bit more).

Can anyone help?

Thank you!

Is it that Angel hair stuff that we used to drape over Chxxxxas trees to look a bit like cobwebs?

phoenix Fri 18-Oct-19 10:56:39

No, Joelsnan it's firmer than that.

Photo?

That polyester cushion filling. You can get from Dunelm?

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 11:01:48

Perhaps it is horsehair, just dyed red. You can buy white. You could dye it.

Sorry, it's a bit out of focus blush

Is it raffia phoenix?

If it is, all craft stores sell it, and it comes in a multitude of colours.

gallusquine Fri 18-Oct-19 11:04:15

Kapok ?

MiniMoon Fri 18-Oct-19 11:07:28

Ah well, no then. He looks fluffy.
Cute though.?

phoenix Fri 18-Oct-19 11:07:37

Thanks for the replies, but it's not raffia, kapok or polyester cushion filling!

Just search toy stuffing - you'll get loads of websites that sell it.

MiniMoon Fri 18-Oct-19 11:29:14

Is it some sort of eyelash yarn?

Only a thought.

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 11:29:31

Oh I do like him! Sf101's suggestion may help

MiniMoon Fri 18-Oct-19 11:30:36

Disregard that. I'm not thinking property this morning.?

I fill my knitted toys with Kapok, not sure what else to use. The santa looks cute.

phoenix Fri 18-Oct-19 13:33:44

It's not "soft" or fluffy, and I may be wrong, but I think if I did a search for toy stuffing, I would find the sort of things a?ready suggested!

Bit of a story, Mr P's birthday is late November, and it's become a bit of a tradition that he has a new C....... decoration as a present! smile

He is given free rein in the kitchen dining room, resulting in a plethora of items that I deem slightly tacky/bad taste (ok, they probably aren't that bad, but they are not allowed in the sitting room grin)

His small fibre optic tree "died" last year, so when I saw one, plus the FC, listed on the village Facebook page at £10 for both of them, I jumped in!

A bit of a win/win in some ways, he gets more C........tat, but I only pay £10!!!

The FC still has the price tag on it, £19.99, the fibre optic tree is bigger than his previous one (will probably obstruct opening of the cupboard where the glasses are kept confused) but if it makes him happy!

merlotgran Fri 18-Oct-19 15:17:41

Eeek! That sets off my trypophobia! shock

phoenix Fri 18-Oct-19 15:25:44

Well, merlot if I could find some of the stuff used for his filling, he probably wouldnt!

Luckygirl Fri 18-Oct-19 16:15:08

Please don't google "stuffing" - just do not! grin

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 16:25:19

merlot can you eat crumpets?

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 16:27:17

Mmmm. That sausage, sage and onion stuffing from the Good Food magazine looks delicious Luckygirl.

Can’t you just use old shredded tights?
