As a rule I don't have a sweet tooth but for some strange reason, I blame the virus, I bought one of the pesky orange-shaped blobs, which are made with real orange oil.

I'm about to eat the last 2 segments and have only just idly checked the calorie count! shock

Tomorrow's walk is gonna have to be a long one!

I eat a few pieces and it made me feel sick as too orangey sweet, feel the same about the Cadburys Crème eggs so sweet and sickly.

I want one now!! We've been self-isolating for 2 weeks. Can I ask one of the nice people who are doing our shopping for us to get me one without looking tooooo naughty. It is surely an 'essential' item if you love them!

Joesoap Tue 31-Mar-20 13:01:12

I LOVE them but unfortunately or maybe not, we dont have them in this country, but when I get to the UK i eat as many as I can, but not a whole one at a time.Christmas is the time for eating them I think, but in this crisis, any time is a good time!

Hazeld Tue 31-Mar-20 13:09:23

@Grannyben. Yes I love that too. A bit like a mini flake. I could eat a whole one to myself any time. Love them.

yes and they taste disgusting . never again.

Ooo 3nanny6, I used to love Cadbury’s Cream Eggs. Even 35 years ago, living in a one-horse town in New Mexico, when I found them in a strange hardware type shop (bought the whole box).

Wouldn’t touch them now. The chocolate is horrible since Cadbury was sold to Hershey.

A friend gave me a bag of chocolate orange segments for Christmas and I recovered them from a cupboard at the weekend ...I finished the whole bag over two days. Delish !! Although hoopla hoop is now constantly getting used!
Ohh it was worth it though!

Oh no GagaJo those Cadburys Cream Eggs sorry to say make me want to "puke" that awful sickly inside mess is terrible.

Don't get me wrong I love chocolate, a normal Cadburys Easter egg with perhaps chocolate buttons left to get cold in the fridge I will eat it. I do like the dark chocolate with the high cocoa bean content more expensive but tastes lovely.

I wonder how those eggs made their way to New Mexico, hopefully someone might ship them all over there we could have a Cadburys Crème free U.K

No! shock I too lived in a one-horse town in NM - only for four months though.

I was in Truth or Consequences smile

Not for me thanks as I don’t have a sweet tooth. DH however has these at the top of his favourites list?. His idea of rationing is to take a segment, wrap what remains, take a segment etc; until he has eaten the lot!

HootyMcOwlface Tue 31-Mar-20 14:09:55

Get thee to Aldi! Chocolate oranges 99p today! ?

gillyknits Tue 31-Mar-20 14:43:20

My daughter’s dog ate a whole chocolate orange on Christmas Eve. It was a wrapped Christmas present but she ate the lot including the box and silver paper. A swift visit to the vet resulted in her being sick for hours but it didn’t put her off chocolate. It has to be well hidden now,

How funny Riverwalk. I was in Alamogordo. Very weird place.

I LOVED the desert though. With those huge cactuses. And driving to El Paso. A hundred miles on a staight, flat road.

Maggiemaybe Tue 31-Mar-20 15:32:13

Come on, folks, be honest. Does anyone honestly enjoy that high-cocoa content dark chocolate as a treat or is it just that you can eat it and still feel virtuous? Give me a common old creme egg any day of the week. smile

GagaJo Tue 31-Mar-20 15:35:44

I like both Maggiemaybe. They’re different things though, aren’t they? Ones a real indulgence, the other a sensation.

Maggiemaybe Tue 31-Mar-20 15:44:04

Well I do eat the “posh” stuff, but only when everything else has gone!

Quizzer Tue 31-Mar-20 15:45:48

I hate them!

CBBL Tue 31-Mar-20 15:53:50

Yes, we too, buy them at Christmas - but we share! I don't think either of us (Hubby and me) have eaten a whole one by ourselves - though hubby could definitely eat a whole one, if given permission!

p.s. Nannylovesshopping I'm pretty sure that we could eat a whole box of Maltesers, too!

live7 Tue 31-Mar-20 15:59:47

I ate a whole one in one sitting a month or so ago. I quite shocked myself but my friends thought it was hilarious!

Elizabeth1 Tue 31-Mar-20 16:06:26

I’m a chocoholic and I just love chocolate oranges they slide down very easily. I break each segment off then pop them into my mouth until I’ve had enough. I can usually finish one off over several days. There’s no stopping me when chocolate oranges are around

Claudiaclaws Tue 31-Mar-20 16:09:27

I hate the word, segment!

H1954 Tue 31-Mar-20 16:11:25

CHOCOLATE ORANGE! Does that count as one of our five a day?

Leavesden Tue 31-Mar-20 16:14:26

I love the one with popping candy don’t see them very often though, only really eat one at Christmas.

Elizabeth1 Tue 31-Mar-20 16:29:41

Claudiaclaws bet you hate the word moist too wink
