Favourite Summer drink

Just going on a supermarket run and thinking about some nice drinks for the weekend. Fancying a fruity cocktail like the sort you might have around the pool on your usual (before Covid) foreign holidays. A mai tai, or a mojito maybe.
What are your favourites? ?

Gordon’s Pink Gin & Tonic with some ice in a big round gin glass

Pimm's No. 1 Cup and a Ginger Square are my favourite summer drinks.

Absolut vodka, from freezer, v cold fever tree tonic, slice of lemon, and frozen tonic ice cubes. Had one yesterday, and I might have to have another now! The sun is shining, and is over the Plimsoll line...

A cup of tea. Not fond of long cold drinks.

Like beigecardigan, a nice cup of tea is my go-to summer drink.

Don't drink alcohol so lemon and lime for me.

Very cold white wine with soda,
Icy cold gin and tonic,
Campari and soda,
Recently, sister in law and I put away two bottles of champagne -her treat.
Not usually such a lush but hadn't seen each other for months.

I’m also a big fan of porn star martinis - I had 2 on Friday, with a small bottle of cava (I don’t like Prosecco)?

Plum & Cinnamon Gin with lemonade ?
Or Pimms & lemonade with fruit/cucumber & mint

I don't drink alcohol very often and pretty much stick to Porter beer (never cold) when I do but I love Swimming World's Fake Pimms which is diet lemonade with Balsamic Vinegar, mint and fruit. It sounds disgusting but I can drink it by the litre and really enjoy it.

Love a non alcoholic mojihto and a cool bottle of Asti Spumanti while dreaming of past Italian holidays in the sun.

I was having to hack off chunks with a toffee hammer anyway.

As an aside, do ice cubes last forever? I’ve just had to ditch the remainder of one of those huge bags full from the freezer to fit in the frozen bits of our latest online shop. We thought it was maybe just as well as neither of us could remember how many years ago we bought it. hmm

Pina Colada, on a beach in Thailand. Bliss.

lemongrove Sun 02-Aug-20 16:24:01

Rhubarb gin with cold tonic water and icecubes.
Pimms with lemonade and mint and ice cubes
Any cold white wine ( although it has to be Villa Maria)
Caustons rhubarb and apple fizz with ice cubes
Cold filtered water with a slice of lemon and ice cubes
( as you can see, we get through a lot of ice cubes.)?

Purpledaffodil Sun 02-Aug-20 14:52:37

Ooh pina colada. Preferably drunk on a catamaran outside Bridgetown harbour. Happy memories! Failing that I was introduced to Aperol spritzer by dear friends yesterday . Looks like Irn Bru but tastes divine in the sunshine. ?

Pina colada I love them, I make them at home after being bought the shaker etc and all ingredients. Smells of holidays pineapple and coconuts.

I used to love them too. Till I drank a bucketful in one of those huge novelty glasses while walking up the Strip in Vegas. Then felt a little bit envy

Puzzler61 Sun 02-Aug-20 14:24:09

Today my favourite drink is Pimms, with lemonade, ice, fresh mint and a sliced strawberry. Perfect on a warm day - and I’m having one in the garden right now ?

Joesoap Sun 02-Aug-20 14:22:00

This thread has made me thirsty, my favourites are traditional G+T lots of ice and lemon.
Prosseco
Really cold white wine.
Just off to quench my thirst!

Campari and soda.

Llamedos13 Sun 02-Aug-20 12:54:24

An icy cold beer for me but only if I’m outside on a patio, doesn’t seem to taste the same indoors.

lulusmf Sun 02-Aug-20 12:09:20

If I could ever have one again it would be a Campari and soda, large slice of orange. Wishful thinking!!

janipans Sun 02-Aug-20 12:07:28

I'm a Red wine or Gin and bitter lemon fan but I went to a wine tasting and they introduced me to Harveys Bristol Cream sherry with ice and a slice of orange (and I like to add a maraschino cherry to be a bit more decadent!) - It is delicious!
For a long drink I like Guinness shandy (or Fentimans none-alcoholic ginger beer if I'm driving!)
