I am tall, relatively slim and like to follow fashion trends, avoiding the "mutton-dressed-as-lamb" syndrome. However for some time I have had a problem with fashionable knickers!
I don't wear granny pants. For some time I have preferred my leg high leg pants but they seem to have gone out of fashion and are harder to get.
The latest fashion is for little shorts which sit low on the hips - very cute. When I wear these they slide off my hips and gather into multiple creases at the top of my thighs. Another fashion is for pants with plain fronts but lace on the derriere. Very sexy and pretty but when you sit down you get a delicate lace pattern on your buttocks!
Luckily French knickers are no longer in vogue. I think wearing them with tights was not an option unless you wore the knickers on top.
The last in-fashion panty is the thong - don't even go there!!
Any ideas for looking good and being comfortable?

M and S full briefs for me. Even when I was young and pretty I wore what are now called full briefs but were then called knickers.
I once knitted long knickers from double knitting wool when I lived in Aberdeenshire

Big knickers all the way, I find them so comfy and keep me warm in the winter. Comfort outweighs fashion sadley

DanniRae yes to the clean trousers every day, but usually a skirt or dress. Tights changes daily when cooler, or stockings worn.

DanniRae

Does the lady who wears no knickers put on clean trousers every day? If not it's like wearing the same pair of knickers two or three days running - yuk! shock

(I can't be the only one who wears trousers two or three times)

My thoughts exactly, DanniRae!! ??

These are the most comfortable knickers I have ever worn. The lace waist is front and back and stops any rolling down and I'm decidedly plump and very reasonably costed. I buy new every year.

I bought my last pack on the strength of someone's review, in which she included a photo of her dog sitting inside a pair. smile
They'll do, I thought.

Nobody sees mine unless I'm transported to A&E and comfort is everything. Nice comfy full briefs for me, thank you!

Jealous of the lady who can wear no knickers! I'm only 60 but have had to use Tena lady pads for 10 yrs now, even after bladder op which didnt help.
You need a full strong gusset in your knickers to support Maxi pads unfortunately. Oh well

I find Sloggi Maxi ideal and buy one size larger to sit/pull well up onto the traditional waistline. Regardless of being preshrunk, I find there is still a tendency to shrink in the first wash or two.

No knickers not my style, a little too chilly whatever the season.

Bless you ladies you have given my day a bumper laugh. Need your help so keep it coming. I hate PJs, but love nightshirts long enough to tuck legs and feet in on a cold night, and with sleeves and grandfather neck. Hate heated bedrooms and closed windows even in winter. So pretty pale colours in brushed cotton ideal. And preferable without having to take out a mortgage to cover the cost.

Oh for the days of Bradley's, near Harvey Nichols at Knightsbridge and Kensington, such lovely things and so comfy. My last purchase from M&S in 1991 so getting quite desperate.

Massive wardrobe malfunction every time I've tried boy shorts ,for all the reasons mentioned plus the crotch always seems to fold in on itself , feeling like I'm wearing a tape measure down there.
Agree, M and S for comfy high leg, low leg whatever takes your fancy. I like their microfibre ones as they don't feel synthetic.

You seem more than fussy, Quizzer. There are countless options for all types of 'pants'. knickers' etc. Have a look in John Lewis, and pants are just about the only item I now buy in M&S - they have a huge range.

Sloggi all the way, comfortable, neat and a bit of support, love them.

Sparklefizz Mon 24-Aug-20 20:30:14

You can't beat Sloggi.

notgoneyet Mon 24-Aug-20 20:29:18

This is me lol

Marks & Spencer have knickers in loads of different styles.
There is surely something there that would suit.

Personally, I go for midi styles.
Not too big, but not too small either.
You really couldn’t find anywhere else with such a wide range of undies.

hallgreenmiss Mon 24-Aug-20 19:42:44

Can’t beat Sloggi midi briefs.

jerseygirl Mon 24-Aug-20 19:41:39

Try sloggi's Tai briefs. I wear these and find them a great fit and they are high leg. They aren't cheap but worth investing in as they are great quality, wash great and last for years. I hope this helps you.

Shizam Mon 24-Aug-20 19:32:15

Saw high leg cotton briefs in Tesco today. I was looking for the big girls’ pants! Always comfort these days.

grannyrebel7 Mon 24-Aug-20 19:21:27

I like high leg and high waist and you can't seem to get both in the same pants. Will try M&S though. They also do great jeans btw.

Marie14 Mon 24-Aug-20 19:15:13

More often than not I find that skin coloured pants and therefore bra are required. They’re not very attractive but are suitable for wearing under every type of clothing. I do love a colourful lacy bra and knickers from M&S but can’t wear them very often due to them showing through my clothing. They do of course always have to match!

icanhandthemback Mon 24-Aug-20 17:44:46

MissAdventure grin

I hate high leg briefs, my caesarian overhang looks so unattractive hanging out each side. hmm

123kitty Mon 24-Aug-20 17:38:12

Putting on clean beautiful matching undies is such a great start to the day

tickingbird Mon 24-Aug-20 17:22:12

Does anyone really still say panty or panties? Creepy. Millie22 Totally agree. Hate it.
