Do you wash cleaning cloths with normal laundry?

I always have. Everything goes in dirty, comes out clean is my thinking. But my daughter's just been round and saw me put a wash on and is apparently horrified. She puts a separate hot wash on for cleaning cloths. Am happy with the way I do it so not planning on changing but still curious as to what others do.

I do like to be co-ordinated so I use a cleaning cloth which matches my overall.
My turban tones in too, of course.

Just come onto this thread because I couldn't believe that 202 people (when I looked) were exchanging views about how they washed their tea towels. Are there 202 different ways. Was sure the subject must have changed, but it hasn't. ??

The next step will be someone telling us they have special dishcloths for Christmas!

winkwinkwink

Well, I do have a set of Christmas towels with embroidered reindeer and some very tasteful Christmas tea-towels.

Sorry, Lucca, I couldn't resist. grin

Make it stop please. ???

No I wash things separately,
Whites , Sheets, Towels ,Undies, Colours ,I never mix washes.
Cleaning cloths are boiled separately then I put washer on empty and run a cycle to clean

The misuse of the inclusive word everyone. Sorry !
See I am still reading this thread !

I am certainly not 'germ phobic' so please don't include me in 'everyone'. Sorry,I am being pedantic but this is my pet hate.

What is your pet hate ?

Hi dustyangel I know what you mean but I am such a poor"housewife" that I am always looking for hints on how to improve. I loved the thread on limescale removal and immediately went out and bought some Harpic.???

Greenfinch I was just wondering if I’m a really sad person for reading this far, feel much better now you’ve posted as well. grin wink

Washing up cloths in dish washer or washing machine or bleach... dusters by hand, tea towels with washing, micro fibre by hand or in washing machine but with no conditioner... that's my way and never had stomach upset or anything else! :-)

Ok, that’s enough now....PLEASE

8 Pages about washing dishcloths, really ?

Jaibee12 Sun 20-Sept-20 11:35:37

Everyone is too ‘germ phobic’ nowadays I think, it’s the reason younger people have weak immunity. All this single use throwing away is what’s killing our planet.

I wash cleaning cloths on their own. I don't put tea towels in with the main wash either. I don't fancy the idea of them going in with pants.

I have recently bought some very strong kitchen paper. Comes in a large roll - 2 pack. I made a small box from a tissue box then I tear off a portion, fold it then cut into small squares, pop them in box and if i make small spills I just grab a piece, wipe and throw. Saves dirtying cloths. J cloths, I bleach in a separate bowl.

Parsley3 Sun 20-Sept-20 10:11:18

Separate wash for cleaning clothes for me. They are too manky to go in with anything else.

Gill11 Sun 20-Sept-20 10:05:57

Wash towels, bedding, tea towels and learning cloths at 50, clothes at 40. Occasionally bleach cleaning cloths and rinse then wash.

Shropshirelass Sun 20-Sept-20 09:39:39

Dish cloths are soaked in bleach and then go in with the towels to be washed at 60 degrees. Don't wash them in with clothes and underwear as I don't think the wash is hot enough to kill bacteria.

pollyperkins Sun 20-Sept-20 08:26:32

Oh dear- I thought I was pretty hygienic but it seems not competed to otgers. Tea towels go in the wash with the towels. I use a fresh j cloth every week (not daily)for washing up and bleach it a couple of times during the week (or put it in dishwasher.) . At the weekend it’s bleached again and then used for bathroom. So recycled. After a week as a cloth for cleaning the bathroom it’s thrown away. Dusters I wash by hand every now & again or throw away if too mucky. Most dusters are torn up old sheets, towels etc though I do have a proper yellow one for polishing.

I belong to the disgusting group, clean dish cloths daily dirty ones go into the standard wash. My only concession is white vinegar and disinfectant instead of fabric softener.

nannyof4 Sat 19-Sept-20 23:18:44

i put my dishcloth in the dishwasher every evening and the cleaning brush.

No teasing. Come on, tell us, I know your gagging to.

I did buy a couple of packs of coloured ones from Lidl
No particular colour for different jobs (although I think I should).
The colours cheer me up!

I have a basket full of cleaning cloths - use about 2-3 per day and wash them at 90° every couple of weeks

Oh!
I must be going wrong somewhere
