I don't do any deep frying for health reasons, but on the odd occasion when I fry an egg or something I leave the oil in the pan and cover it with kichen roll when it's cool. It soaks up most of the oil which I later put into the bin and wipe the pan with more kitchen paper until it is clean. I only wash the frying pan if I've cooked fish or meat in it.
If you bought a potato salad would you expect potato?
