Has any seen GagaJo recently, is she home from her job in Switzerland yet? It was so difficult getting home this time last year.

BlueSky Sat 03-Jul-21 00:23:39

I was wondering about GagaJo too.

Part of the problem is that some posters wade in, without reading the whole thread, when the situation has already been resolved. People then become upset, when that situation could have been avoided!

Oh so true! The “wading in” and the not reading the thread, really bugs me.

It annoys me also, when it’s obvious that other replies haven’t been read.
This has been debated before, only to be told that people can’t be expected to ‘wade’ through several pages.
That is why threads are repetitive and often quite boring.

mokryna Sat 03-Jul-21 08:13:13

I have read the whole thread and I also remember other people you haven’t mentioned.

sodapop Sat 03-Jul-21 08:43:00

And I wade in without checking the date sorry Marydoll smile

Grannmarie Sat 03-Jul-21 08:45:17

I remember Taichinan.

I enjoyed her posts on the Good Morning thread.

I don't know what happened to her?

Marydoll Sat 03-Jul-21 08:49:18

Sodapop, you are forgiven! grin

It was just a generalisation!! It's the pages and pages of repetition of the same advice, already given that annoys me.
An example would be a poster with a medical worry, posters advise seeing a doctor, the poster come back saying she has a diagnosis and offer thanks for the advice. Then, people come on saying, You need to see a doctor! Arrggg

Sorry, worse things are happening at sea!

Do you remember when someone posted that her two year old grandson was selfish and asked how to punish him? (All entirely tongue in cheek)
There were pages and pages of outraged people who hadn't read the thread and were beside themselves.

FannyCornforth Sat 03-Jul-21 12:02:01

Boris and Carrie getting married was another one.
Pages and pages of posts asking if Boris was Catholic; was Carrie Catholic; could they get married in a Catholic church; did the Catholic church recognise his previous marriages; blah blah blah
If they'd read just two pages in they would have seen that it has all been done and dusted two hours in.

They don't know we're here.

They don't read everything so we just have to keep quiet

Shhh, everyone , I shall say this only once, whisper very quietly and no raucous singing

sodapop Sat 03-Jul-21 12:09:04

Threads do get repetitive I agree, but sometimes you just want to let the OP you are interested and not ignoring them personally.
I often write that I agree with previous posters so the OP knows I have acknowledged them.

FannyCornforth Sat 03-Jul-21 12:11:19

You're right Callistemon
I don't think that 'they' really exist in any functional sense.
Just pop in every now and again to see that noone has burnt the house down.
I think that GN is quite a small concern, and all the better for it! smile

Millie22 Sat 03-Jul-21 12:21:12

Yes MissA I remember that thread. It got quite silly how outraged people were about a small child making a mess and it wasn't even a real problem. Nice to see you back btw.

MissAdventure Sat 03-Jul-21 12:28:22

smile
Thank you!

Whoops just realised it's an old thread - sorry

I think a lot of old threads are brought back to life by scammers unfortunately - I was reading one the other day thinking 'I remember a thread about this a while back' and 'Oh! so-and-so is posting, that's good, haven't seen her/him post for ages' - took a while for the penny to drop when I noticed the date on the posts and the last post was a bit obscure. It was nice seeing all those names though, from a few years ago.

But this is not an old thread Wed 30-Jun-21

Callistemon Sat 03-Jul-21 15:24:26

I think the wading in is hypothetical, mokryna

Marydoll Sat 03-Jul-21 15:58:14

mokryna, you have misunderstood my post. I am NOT talking about this thread. As I have already stated upthread, my statement was a generalisation about previous threads. It shows one to has to read and re-read, before posting to ensure absolute clarity. Even then one will probly not get it quite right. grin

I rest my case. wink

Marydoll Sat 03-Jul-21 16:06:30

PROBABLY not probly. blush

Callistemon Sat 03-Jul-21 19:28:27

Ooh, a gleeful moment!
My Maffs teecher has misspelt a word!

(sorry, Miss Marydoll, I will behave now, promis.)

Marydoll Sat 03-Jul-21 19:33:53

I confess to not paying attention and not reading the thread! grin
Callistemon a hundred lines, you cheeky besom!

Marydoll Sat 03-Jul-21 19:34:42

PS, please don't let Doodle know, she will gloat! wink

Callistemon Sat 03-Jul-21 19:36:43

I will not make fun of my lovely teecher
X 100
(sorree, I do promis to behave in future)

Marydoll Sat 03-Jul-21 19:52:26

Now, Callistemon, do not make promises you cannot keep! wink

NotSpaghetti Sat 03-Jul-21 20:00:47

Tizliz please do post on threads - it's good to hear different voices.
