Help me find a nail varnish

I'm looking for a simple nail varnish with a pink tinge, not frosted or with pieces of glitter. They used to do a clear varnish with a pink tinge, but I can't find one now. I don't mind it being coloured pale pink. Can anyone recommend a varnish like this?

I’ve just been reading about this exact same item on Mumsnet Style & Beauty forum .
The Dior Nail Glow was recommended. The reviews on JL website look great.
If I wore pink I would try it.

I also remember the clear varnish with a pink tinge Chestnut. It was called "Natural" as opposed to "Clear" and Rimmel used to sell it when I was a teenager. The closest I could find online was this one - but it's pricey!https://www.johnlewis.com/dior-cherie-bow-edition-vernis-nail-glow/p231837711?sku=231837711&s_ppc=2dx92700055388606013&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrJOMBhCZARIsAGEd4VGnIdzRfNNowTDIthh6UZbPbiqq6T4tqgdrQxlYA8Q1hD5Lze7fOkUaAkRcEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Just spotted this which looks okay, although £15.99 is a risk if I don't like it.

Nail varnishes are all bright and glittery now! I would have loved that back in the day but not now my hands are old.

Chestnut That one you have linked isn’t ‘clear’ , it is Nude ?

If you Google ‘Nude Nail Polish’ there are zillions on the market at all prices .
Sally Hansen do one called The Devil Wears Nada which gets good reviews and is a reasonable price on Amazon.

Try the Essie brand or Boots Natural Collection brands , both have pale pinks available.
Or OPI have their Nail Envy that comes in either clear or with a hint of pink. It's pricey at £17 but also strengthens your nails and wears well.

I’m using Cutex brittle nail fix at the moment and it’s a clear gel like consistency and a pale pink. Really improved my nails too.

I bought Essie ‘Ballet Slippers’. Apparently it’s what the queen uses. I reckoned if it was good enough for Her Majesty, it’s definitely good enough for me. And it’s lovely.

I used to like ‘Natural’ too but it seems to have been discontinued. I can recommend Dior Nail Glow, expensive but just right. Looks like a nice French manicure. Don’t leave it exposed to sunlight or you will have a bottle of ordinary transparent varnish instead, no pink tinge.

Dior Nail Glow says instantly revives the natural colour of the nail, boosting the pink on the nail bed and brightening the white tips which is what I actually want. I have no problem with the strength of my nails these days, in fact I have to cut them, but they look so dull without any colour.
I have some great colours in the back of my drawer, I used to love the vibrant orange! But I don't feel they go with wrinkly old hands these days. I'll wear bright red at Christmas but that's it.

Oh dear, Dior Nail Glow only seems to be on the Dior website costing £21.

Try a French manicure nail polish. They come in very pale ? pink.

I bought the Dior Nail Glow yesterday at John Lewis. It was on offer so I paid I think £18. It’s worth every penny. It’s very glossy and makes my nails look really good. Thanks for the recommendation.
The lovely assistant gave me some foundation samples which I will try out today.
My only gripe is that on the Dior website all the models are young, not one mature person in sight.

That’s great NanKate.

The Mumsnet Style And Beauty forum is a fabulous resource and I have benefited frequently both financially and product wise by using it.

Perfect formula gel pink, is a clear, pink nail strengthener, which is also a nail polish. QVC sell it and you can also get it on Ebay.

I bought a clear Rimmel varnish from Sainsbury a fortnight ago. I used it a couple of days later and it's still on.

I use Dior Nail glow bought by DD for me. I am onto my third bottle. Thanks for the tip about it fading in sunlight. My other DD bought me ballet slippers which is also good. When I was looking online I saw that Essie had brought out what sounded a bit like NailGlow at about £20 that bit cheaper but did not seem to have the seem deep pink glow. I also have a curved nail file which is brilliant for doing my right hand gives my nails just a neat gentle curve.

PamelaJ1 Fri 11-Feb-22 09:41:37

OPI used to do a top coat called Be Magentale with me.
I think it has been discontinued. If it has and there is a big demand perhaps I had better sell this unopened bottle on eBay?

niamul21 Fri 11-Feb-22 10:07:50

I got the point here!

NanKate Fri 11-Feb-22 12:13:28

Marydoll I can just imagine you surfing EBay and QVC ?

Ordered a bottle - only £6.99 - from Amazon and it arrived today. It’s lovely, looks live had a French manicure. Thank you for the recommendation!

I have always had 'difficult' nails that flake & split - although I am in basic good health. I find OPI the absolute best.
