Got up and showered, put a wash on then went for the paper. Was planning a walk but got side tracked by 2 doughnuts.
I'll go for a walk now when I catch up with Facebook where a local scandal is being discussed. Unfortunately no one actually knows what happened but the comments are amusing.

Very quiet day anticipated. DH went down to make tea and the dishwasher had leaked all over the kitchen floor. Happily easily fixed, but not a good start to the morning. Then I sorted out the bedding for the GDs beds for Christmas, made lunch, did some washing, wrote a bit more of my book and sorted out dinner for tonight. Just sat down. A snooze me thinks?

Was slow to get going after a sleepless night with aches and pains. Cheered up by a surprise visit from son and granddaughter who had lunch with us. Baby is waking up from her nap now so she'll be raring to go!

Took the canes down from beans and peas in raised bed. I had a little companion following me around a beautiful robin. I then changed the draw knobs on my bedroom furniture nice crystal to brighten up the room.
I packed my little weekend bag on wheels for trip to Cardiff tomorrow. We are going to watch Wales first trip since lockdown began. The journey is three hours by train it's pleasant but a bit chaotic.

Got up at my normal 4.30 always been an early bird. Had coffee with DH. Cut DHs hair. We went into town later.
DH works and im retired so its nice when we do stuff together at the weekends even if its only walking round the shops.

I sat on a bench and watched DH sail his boat, it was lovely and sunny this morning, for a change.

I went to lay a posy of poppies on behalf of my WI at the War Memorial. A moving few hours remembering those who gave us so much. I found it very encouraging to see so many youngsters in the Air, Army & Sea Cadets. The rain managed to keep off as well.

Two Granddaughter stayed over last night. This morning we had to get the eldest one ready in her beaver uniform to attend the remembrance parade. lovely to see all the children honouring the past soldiers, and all looking so smart in their uniforms.
Just dropped them home. Feet up for me now before work tomorrow.

Breakfast then warm coat and hat and off to the Remembrance Service at our local Cenotaph. Good to see so many young ones.

Trisha57 Sun 14-Nov-21 14:27:34

Watched the Cenotaph ceremony, caught up on GN and Facebook and then..............cleaned the oven (bliss!)

On holiday. Still on UK time so was up at 5am. Walked 5 km along the beach. Now sitting on the beach with a good book. Bliss.

Laid the WI wreath at our village remembrance service.
Then I made a 'light' Christmas pudding (no nuts as DGD is allergic). She is four and was asking if we will be having Christmas pudding when they come here on 25/12. I said we would and we would put a sprig of holly on it and set fire to it. She was amazed,
"Real fire Grandma? Will we still be able to eat it?" Her face was a picture. This was a completely new concept. I'm looking forward to her reaction on the day!

Got up and showered.
Breakfast.
Took DH blood pressure as being monitored twice a day for a week for Practice Nurse.
Drove along M8 to collect item for DGD Christmas from Livingston - have lost confidence on motorway I have decided! Not driven there for 2 years.
Went to Designer Outlet - mobbed - never again and parked in Aldi and walked after driving round busy car parks 3 times with no spaces.
Got lost in Livingston collecting 2nd item for DGD Christmas (2nd hand Doc McStuffins toys FB marketplace). Mazda maps couldn't handle Livingston had to switch to Google.
Eternally glad to get back to M8 towards Edinburgh.
Picked DD2 and DGS2 from nursery and took them home as wind now a storm and she had the buggy.
Had tea.
Now moving things inside and tying bins to fence as storm worsening and power going on and off.
Fence blowing over.
Gonna be a looong night.

Rescued the waterproof cover on the rabbit's hutch. Collected a lot of feathers from the back garden where I think one of the wood pigeons may have fallen foul of a fox. Replenished the bird feeders. Changed my bed. Had my breakfast and collected my offerings for food bank later on.

Hetty58 Sat 27-Nov-21 09:31:03

Not a lot - on second coffee - just give me time!

Kate1949 Sat 27-Nov-21 09:36:29

Woken up to thick snow in Birmingham. What a shock.

Baggs Sat 27-Nov-21 09:39:23

Jumped into wellies, rammed a woolly hat on, and run up the garden to catch the sunrise.

Sago Sat 27-Nov-21 09:49:43

Had friends for dinner last night so a fitful sleep due to rich food and alcohol?.
Up at 7.30 dishwasher emptied, packed husband off for a days shooting and took tea back up to bed.
I’m still there now listening to the howling wind and rain.

kircubbin2000 Sat 27-Nov-21 12:00:01

Cleared up after the storm as pots blown over and leaves everywhere. It's so windy I put on a wash. Hope it doesn't blow away too.
I see some windsurfers from my window but I think it's too cold for a walk.

JaneJudge Sat 27-Nov-21 12:02:49
