Got up and showered, put a wash on then went for the paper. Was planning a walk but got side tracked by 2 doughnuts.
I'll go for a walk now when I catch up with Facebook where a local scandal is being discussed. Unfortunately no one actually knows what happened but the comments are amusing.

What have you done this morning?
(62 Posts)Not a lot, but now out for the afternoon to sons house
Breakfast of eggs, avocado & coffee at 07.00
90 minute walk with a friend at 08.30
Faffed around online reading newspapers & GN
Perused Fortnum & Mason's website
I desperately need to do some housework but might have lunch first!
Showered, done some washing and there's another load in as I type. Housework that was needed and coloured my hair. Ironing this afternoon so I hope there's something decent to watch on the tv.
Washed and blow-dried my hair, difficult as I was persuaded by the thread about long grey hair to have a slightly more drastic haircut and I am not very good at blow-drying.
Had breakfast.
Made a fish pie.
Amused myself on Gransnet, rather than sweep up dead leaves.
Thwarted the cold caller by agreeing enthusiastically with everything she said; she cut me off!
Very satisfying morning turning out a store cupboard, putting everything into boxes and labelling them. Hopefully this will mean I can find things more easily, rather than relying on my memory, which quite often seems to go on holiday, nowadays!
Showered. Had a face time with DGS (5) who asked me to make him a poppy. Apparently a bought on is not good enough. Been to the local shops and now busy making a felt poppy to take to DGS this afternoon.
After much consideration, I have emailed a letter of Resignation from the Committee of our local ‘50+ Community Café’ - there has been some disquiet and rumblings for some time. I am not a morning person and as a Committee member, I was expected to attend at least 1 hour before the rest of the members arrived. And, quite rightly so.
It’s a big weight of my mind….phew !!
I’ve had an annoying morning! I was supposed to be meeting an old friend for lunch. But I woke up with that awful cold that’s going round. Then, just as I finished breakfast (granola, toast and marmalade, banana, pineapple juice and a cup of tea) I got a migraine. I took a 50 mg sumatriptan but feel weary now. So I cancelled lunch. OH is going shooting after lunch so I’ll lie on the sofa with a cat or two.
Not half of what I intended to.
Showered, hair washed, dressed (discarding three different outfits as they make me look fat) , packed a small overnight bag as I am off to D and SIL’s for the weekend for GS’s birthday, took Rosie to kennels, filled up with petrol , bought an M&S sandwich and I am now eating that along with a coffee, ready to set off about 1.30
Where does the time go?
Showered walked to the bakers for doughnuts and crusty bread it’s 45 mins there and back so that’s my walk done too put a wash on and then had bran flakes and toast for brekkie. Cleaned the bathroom and made the aired bed. Now I’m faffing about catching up with family stuff on Watsapp and FB and here of course. No plans so I might catch up with Dalgleish this afternoon.
Did my stint manning the library in the local town. Very quiet today a few people in our small cafe for coffee but not many readers. Managed to do quite a lot of work sorting the books though.
Late up after a lie in. Bliss. 2 cups of tea in bed. Up,showered and dressed in soft clothes waiting for L’il Miss aged four to arrive. Mummy dropped her off. She likes to fob us into the apartments and hear the lady say ‘the door is open’.
?
Played for two hours, sitting for ten minutes with a coffee made by Himself. ‘Hide the ball’ (we don’t own a thimble!) is popular at the moment, asking Alexa to play songs we could dance to ‘watch me grandma’ and drawing with felt tips.
Then a treat ‘please may I have a sausage roll grandad?’. Sure.
Off he went down in the lift and to Gregg’s round the corner for what mummy describes as ‘beige food’! As I say, a treat hehe!
Nothing yet as still in bed but about to get up to deliver two cakes I made yesterday to a friend to serve after the Remembrance Day Parade tomorrow.
I had set my alarm for 9 am ( I am not a morning person! ) but woke up at 6.15 after only four hours sleep so after reading for a couple of hours, I switched it off and went back to sleep until 11.30. I’ve had my morning cup of coffee while on my iPad so am now ready to face the rest of the day.
No alarms set at weekends so we had a lie in. MrM brought me my usual mug of Earl Grey at 8:30. Got dressed in work clothes and let Mya out so she could do her morning deposit!
Breakfast then I cut MrM’s hair and beard. He looks like a smart Santa now ?. Caught up with lots of messages. Did a few replies and suddenly it was midday. Dry outside so more gentle gardening. Had a wagging finger from the doctor on Thursday.
One of my usual days of a load of washing on and then pegged on the line, unusually sunny and breezy, played football with the dogs, cooked their dinners for the week, showered, dressed, packed the dogs and DH into the car, drove to the next town and walked to get some footballs for the dogs, all back into the car, couldn't get to the pet shop too many cars, off to the next beach for a walk, back into the car and onto Asda to stock up on coffee, then the motorhome to make sure all ok as I want to go away next week to Clitheroe, back home, having a coffee and will next plant the last of the bulbs and have a sarnie and coffee. Not bad before 2pm.
Had to wait in as a parcel was being picked up by Hermes (all arranged by Lakeland who had given me a refund for an item bought back in February, they are such a good company).
Whilst waiting for Hermes I made a chicken casserole for Monday night, vacuumed round, cleaned kitchen floor, wrapt up parcels for return, ate an egg sandwich as brunch.
Going to post office soon. Fish and chips later which is a Saturday night tradition. Who remembers the ditty which goes ‘oh what fun it is to be a grownup busy little bumble bee!’.
Got up early because I couldn't go back to sleep.
Said Morning Prayer.
Showered.
Walked the dogs.
Fed the dogs.
Ate breakfast.
Put some semblance of order into the back room where I am gradually beginning to pack boxes for a house move not until January but all the assembling and chariting and tipping is really cathartic, I'm enjoying it.
Wove the ends of a crochet project in.
Drove to pick up a friend to take her towels shopping and mugs shopping and storage boxes shopping.
Didn't buy anything!
Went to charity shop and bought a floor lamp I'd coveted yesterday but now thing the bulb fixture is either ancient or non-british so it may have to go back.
Ate a giant fish and chips.
About to put feet up.....?
Ate the lovely bacon and egg and drank the fresh coffee all prepared by him.
Tidyed the kitchen, did two loads of washing, completed a large crossword, spent time on FB and am now sitting with a large coffee looking at GN
Meanwhile himself has been in the garage/workshop all morning
Got up and showered.
Took dog out with DH.
Made chicken soup from chicken we had in the week.
Took dog out again for a longer walk in the sunshine.
Now reading GN.
Getting ready to make a pasta bake with Quorn mince.
Fed the cat, put the washer on, had a shower, did my hair (burnt my finger on my new straighteners), wiped the kitchen worktops, hung washing out, put more in the washer. Put my make-up on, went to the local farm shop and bought a few things, had a walk around the country park (about 2 miles), came back, and fetched the washing in as it looks like rain.
I did my recycling then had a shorter walk than usual due to bad back. Had a shower and washed my hair then answered texts.
No housework today due to back problem (my excuse) had lunch while watching an episode of Angela Black and about to do my daily puzzles. Supposed to keep the brain active but not sure.?
I got a big bag of lemons for 10p yesterday and so have made a lemon drizzle cake and some lemon syllabub. Made a fish pie for this evening. Changed bedding, put a wash on and gave a quick flick round with the vacuum. Filled the bird feeders - again. Friends for dinner this evening so about to go and shower and change into something a bit nicer.

Looking forward to Dalgliesh as I've just heard it was filmed in Greyabbey near here.
Late waking up today (Saturday lie-ins are allowed).
Shopping.
Writing e mails, getting in touch with people.
Planned this evening’s meal and talked to OH (he’s out and about all day in the week.
Saturdays are very chilled in our house.
