Got up and showered, put a wash on then went for the paper. Was planning a walk but got side tracked by 2 doughnuts.
I'll go for a walk now when I catch up with Facebook where a local scandal is being discussed. Unfortunately no one actually knows what happened but the comments are amusing.

Laid the WI wreath at our village remembrance service.
Then I made a 'light' Christmas pudding (no nuts as DGD is allergic). She is four and was asking if we will be having Christmas pudding when they come here on 25/12. I said we would and we would put a sprig of holly on it and set fire to it. She was amazed,
"Real fire Grandma? Will we still be able to eat it?" Her face was a picture. This was a completely new concept. I'm looking forward to her reaction on the day!

On holiday. Still on UK time so was up at 5am. Walked 5 km along the beach. Now sitting on the beach with a good book. Bliss.

Trisha57 Sun 14-Nov-21 14:27:34

Watched the Cenotaph ceremony, caught up on GN and Facebook and then..............cleaned the oven (bliss!)

nadateturbe Sun 14-Nov-21 14:21:19

Breakfast then warm coat and hat and off to the Remembrance Service at our local Cenotaph. Good to see so many young ones.

Two Granddaughter stayed over last night. This morning we had to get the eldest one ready in her beaver uniform to attend the remembrance parade. lovely to see all the children honouring the past soldiers, and all looking so smart in their uniforms.
Just dropped them home. Feet up for me now before work tomorrow.

I went to lay a posy of poppies on behalf of my WI at the War Memorial. A moving few hours remembering those who gave us so much. I found it very encouraging to see so many youngsters in the Air, Army & Sea Cadets. The rain managed to keep off as well.

I sat on a bench and watched DH sail his boat, it was lovely and sunny this morning, for a change.

Lilydrop Sat 13-Nov-21 17:15:34

Got up at my normal 4.30 always been an early bird. Had coffee with DH. Cut DHs hair. We went into town later.
DH works and im retired so its nice when we do stuff together at the weekends even if its only walking round the shops.

Redhead56 Sat 13-Nov-21 15:28:54

Took the canes down from beans and peas in raised bed. I had a little companion following me around a beautiful robin. I then changed the draw knobs on my bedroom furniture nice crystal to brighten up the room.
I packed my little weekend bag on wheels for trip to Cardiff tomorrow. We are going to watch Wales first trip since lockdown began. The journey is three hours by train it's pleasant but a bit chaotic.

Was slow to get going after a sleepless night with aches and pains. Cheered up by a surprise visit from son and granddaughter who had lunch with us. Baby is waking up from her nap now so she'll be raring to go!

BBbevan Sat 13-Nov-21 14:55:13

Very quiet day anticipated. DH went down to make tea and the dishwasher had leaked all over the kitchen floor. Happily easily fixed, but not a good start to the morning. Then I sorted out the bedding for the GDs beds for Christmas, made lunch, did some washing, wrote a bit more of my book and sorted out dinner for tonight. Just sat down. A snooze me thinks?

TillyTrotter Sat 13-Nov-21 14:51:24

Cleaned the bathroom and made the aired bed. Now I’m faffing about catching up with family stuff on Watsapp and FB and here of course. No plans so I might catch up with Dalgleish this afternoon.

Looking forward to Dalgliesh as I've just heard it was filmed in Greyabbey near here.

I got a big bag of lemons for 10p yesterday and so have made a lemon drizzle cake and some lemon syllabub. Made a fish pie for this evening. Changed bedding, put a wash on and gave a quick flick round with the vacuum. Filled the bird feeders - again. Friends for dinner this evening so about to go and shower and change into something a bit nicer.

I did my recycling then had a shorter walk than usual due to bad back. Had a shower and washed my hair then answered texts.
No housework today due to back problem (my excuse) had lunch while watching an episode of Angela Black and about to do my daily puzzles. Supposed to keep the brain active but not sure.?

HowVeryDareYou Sat 13-Nov-21 14:13:06

Fed the cat, put the washer on, had a shower, did my hair (burnt my finger on my new straighteners), wiped the kitchen worktops, hung washing out, put more in the washer. Put my make-up on, went to the local farm shop and bought a few things, had a walk around the country park (about 2 miles), came back, and fetched the washing in as it looks like rain.

dragonfly46 Sat 13-Nov-21 14:09:21

Got up and showered.
Took dog out with DH.
Made chicken soup from chicken we had in the week.
Took dog out again for a longer walk in the sunshine.
Now reading GN.
Getting ready to make a pasta bake with Quorn mince.

ninathenana Sat 13-Nov-21 14:02:22

Ate the lovely bacon and egg and drank the fresh coffee all prepared by him.
Tidyed the kitchen, did two loads of washing, completed a large crossword, spent time on FB and am now sitting with a large coffee looking at GN
Meanwhile himself has been in the garage/workshop all morning

Ailidh Sat 13-Nov-21 13:57:31

Got up early because I couldn't go back to sleep.
Said Morning Prayer.
Showered.
Walked the dogs.
Fed the dogs.
Ate breakfast.
Put some semblance of order into the back room where I am gradually beginning to pack boxes for a house move not until January but all the assembling and chariting and tipping is really cathartic, I'm enjoying it.
Wove the ends of a crochet project in.
Drove to pick up a friend to take her towels shopping and mugs shopping and storage boxes shopping.
Didn't buy anything!
Went to charity shop and bought a floor lamp I'd coveted yesterday but now thing the bulb fixture is either ancient or non-british so it may have to go back.
Ate a giant fish and chips.
About to put feet up.....?

Sallywally1 Sat 13-Nov-21 13:22:10

Had to wait in as a parcel was being picked up by Hermes (all arranged by Lakeland who had given me a refund for an item bought back in February, they are such a good company).

Whilst waiting for Hermes I made a chicken casserole for Monday night, vacuumed round, cleaned kitchen floor, wrapt up parcels for return, ate an egg sandwich as brunch.

Going to post office soon. Fish and chips later which is a Saturday night tradition. Who remembers the ditty which goes ‘oh what fun it is to be a grownup busy little bumble bee!’.

Mishy Sat 13-Nov-21 13:21:53

One of my usual days of a load of washing on and then pegged on the line, unusually sunny and breezy, played football with the dogs, cooked their dinners for the week, showered, dressed, packed the dogs and DH into the car, drove to the next town and walked to get some footballs for the dogs, all back into the car, couldn't get to the pet shop too many cars, off to the next beach for a walk, back into the car and onto Asda to stock up on coffee, then the motorhome to make sure all ok as I want to go away next week to Clitheroe, back home, having a coffee and will next plant the last of the bulbs and have a sarnie and coffee. Not bad before 2pm.

muse Sat 13-Nov-21 13:04:53

No alarms set at weekends so we had a lie in. MrM brought me my usual mug of Earl Grey at 8:30. Got dressed in work clothes and let Mya out so she could do her morning deposit!
Breakfast then I cut MrM’s hair and beard. He looks like a smart Santa now ?. Caught up with lots of messages. Did a few replies and suddenly it was midday. Dry outside so more gentle gardening. Had a wagging finger from the doctor on Thursday.

Teacheranne Sat 13-Nov-21 13:01:35

Nothing yet as still in bed but about to get up to deliver two cakes I made yesterday to a friend to serve after the Remembrance Day Parade tomorrow.

I had set my alarm for 9 am ( I am not a morning person! ) but woke up at 6.15 after only four hours sleep so after reading for a couple of hours, I switched it off and went back to sleep until 11.30. I’ve had my morning cup of coffee while on my iPad so am now ready to face the rest of the day.

Urmstongran Sat 13-Nov-21 12:59:00

Late up after a lie in. Bliss. 2 cups of tea in bed. Up,showered and dressed in soft clothes waiting for L’il Miss aged four to arrive. Mummy dropped her off. She likes to fob us into the apartments and hear the lady say ‘the door is open’.
?
Played for two hours, sitting for ten minutes with a coffee made by Himself. ‘Hide the ball’ (we don’t own a thimble!) is popular at the moment, asking Alexa to play songs we could dance to ‘watch me grandma’ and drawing with felt tips.

Then a treat ‘please may I have a sausage roll grandad?’. Sure.
Off he went down in the lift and to Gregg’s round the corner for what mummy describes as ‘beige food’! As I say, a treat hehe!
