Can anyone recommend a small petrol 4x4

Hello, I've currently got an old diesel Nissan X trail, and it's on its last legs. I thought the brakes had gone today, bit stuck after the freezing evening we had last night I think as were OK after driving for a while. I also have a clonking noise occasionally and something detaches itself and vibrates at speed then seems to reattach itself. It's starting to cost a lot to repair and I'd much rather run a petrol car anyway.

I live in rural Northumberland and like the extra height of the X trail, as well as the camera for parking.

Any recommendations please?

I love our three year old petrol 1600!Suzuki Vitara SZ-T. Auto.Purchased eighteen months ago. Comfortable, smooth, excellent fuel consumption and a camera that means I could reverse from Anglesey to London without turning my head like an owl.
The colour is bright turquoise so I can spot it in a busy car park. Win win

I liked the jimny we had too but in Anglesey winds on open stretches of road found it a bit light.

That's a good point LauraNorderr, when my daughter left her Corsa with me I drove it a few times and felt it was light - I was driving it like the X trail and found corners tricky too.

Jimney cars have a good reputation.

We have always had Jeeps. We have a Wrangler at the moment. Marvellous. Goes anywhere, doors off, roof off if you wish.Rain, wind, snow, water.

The OP is probably thinking about another car by now.
