Just stuck my head out - gawd it's cold, bright & sunny but cold! sunshine

I'm trying to persuade myself to get dressed and run some errands but my backside will not rise from this chair.

I might have another coffee while I think things over! smile

I'm in Northumberland too Oldbat, but in the south west corner near Hadrian's wall.

Cold and sunny here in the Black Country. I've had some health problems which have largely confined me to barracks these past two months. Today I've driven for the fist time in two months and am happy to be on the mend (fingers x-ed!) and out and about. Yay!

Not just out. Walked GS to school. It was sharp!

Frost on my car this morning I pushed it forward into the sun aand it melted in ten minutes so I could go to do my shopping.

About an hour ago, I looked at the max/min thermometer outside my back door and saw it was -3. It's now +1 and overnight it has been -5. I'm hibernating.

Gloriously sunny but oh so cold when the wind whipped up - the BBC weather always says 'gentle breeze'!

I'm envious of those living near the Northumberland beaches - after watching Vera on Sunday. smile

I’m in Durham. Got to drop my car off for an hour and determined to walk while I wait. It’s very sunny, icy blue sky but very cold. Might treat myself to a Costa Hot Chocolate when I’m mobile later.

The Hairy Bikers were in and around Bamburgh last week Riverwalk - absolutely stunning!

Chardy Thu 20-Jan-22 13:14:51

Was out on beach before 9am in a hoodie, scarf and a thick jacket. I was quickly too hot!
Rest of the morning, the hoodie was sufficient when outside.

I had an appointment at 12.45 and was surprised to see that there was still frost on my car windows.

I am so pleased that with my new car I can switch it on using an app on my phone and it runs for five minutes with the doors still locked! There is a quick defrost function which switches on the front and rear heated windscreens, air con, full heat etc to clear the frost and condensation very quickly.

I feel really spoiled when I hear the car humming away while I finish getting my shoes and coat on!

Absolutely freezing at 7.00am when walking the dog, thick jumper, padded coat, hat, gloves etc. It was -2 .
Back out again at 12.30 to the park with him and 4 degrees then, but still cold.
We are in East Anglia near Cambridge.

It's a balmy 5C, grey & gloomy and I'm still in my dressing gown.

I'm going to do some batch cooking then while that's cooling I'll hoof-it around the neighourhood, see what's going on. But I'll have another coffee to get me going.

BBbevan Sat 22-Jan-22 11:00:09

Yes been gardening for the last hour. Just cutting off dead stuff and tackling the moss on the drive. That’s it for today. Cloudy but not too cold out.

Just back from a lovely sunny walk. Uphill most of the way so good exercise. Feel that I have earned my coffee today.

Ten minute drive for me. Went to the beach on Tuesday. It was stunning. Had the whole beach to myself.

It's +6 C here today, yesterday it was +4 and the day before that minus 2, so anyone's guess what tomorrow will bring.

Stunning indeed Gaga - I'm even more envious!

Nothing better than crisp, cool air. Gets the blood pumping!

AGAA4 Sun 23-Jan-22 09:39:23

Another one with Northumberland envy. The beaches there are beautiful. To be able to go there easily would be my ideal.
I haven't been out yet today but shouldn't moan as I have lovely countryside on my doorstep here.

FannyCornforth Sun 23-Jan-22 09:50:53

Oh, me too, AGA
And the scenery (swoon)
I nearly cried when I saw Bambrugh Castle for the first time.

Oldbat you don’t live in Alnmouth do you? That’s my absolute dream ♥️

BBbevan Sun 23-Jan-22 12:05:53

Walked along the beach to get the papers in the village. Very overcast but not freezing.

BlueBelle deserves a special GN award.

I feel virtuous on cold days after doing a trot along the river/around the park/pounding the pavements, but it takes a very special person to get up and go out for a swim in the North Sea grin

I've just done a walk to Waitrose and back!
