Just stuck my head out - gawd it's cold, bright & sunny but cold! sunshine

I'm trying to persuade myself to get dressed and run some errands but my backside will not rise from this chair.

I might have another coffee while I think things over! smile

Another Northumberland fan here. Stunning scenery.

Ever been to Northumberland though DH had an aunt who lived in Alnwick.

Been gardening this morning as it is grey and still. We have a large bramble patch at the bottom of the garden which we cleared and then burnt. Love doing the incinerator. The smoke went straight up. Beautiful. In now both of us smelling like kippers !

I went out this morning and my hands were freezing despite my woolly gloves. Usually keep my hands toasty so it must have been colder earlier today.

My mojo needs a bit of a nudge this morning - I did plan on an early river walk but somehow didn't get round to it.

But the sun has made a weak appearance and I have intentions to be out the door by noon sunshine

Quite warm ,and sunshine, but 50mph + winds here in Durham. I'm watching the trees surrounding us somewhat anxiously... We had two blown down by Arwen...

GagaJo Sat 29-Jan-22 10:06:56

Yes, blowing a gale in Northumberland too MaizieD. The bin's been blown over twice.

Plenty of blue sky here (outer SW London) this morning, a sprinkling of cotton-wool type cloud, a light wind.
Thermometer outside the kitchen window says 11 deg, and that’s with no sun on it.

BBbevan Sat 29-Jan-22 10:26:50

As my DH would say “Indoor play today”. Wet, cold and windy out.

FannyCornforth Sat 29-Jan-22 10:27:46

That’s very sweet BBbevan smile

Callistemon21 Sat 29-Jan-22 10:31:26

11C here, it was sunny with high cloud, not moving much, but windy with low scudding clouds. Quite interesting.
It's now clouded over.

fulltimenana Sat 29-Jan-22 10:45:55

Yes been out this morning hanging out my grandsons nappies on the washing line ,nice and windy and dry in no time

Callistemon21 Sat 29-Jan-22 10:47:54

I used to like seeing a line of nappies!
Haven't hung any for years nor have I seen any on a washing line for a very long time.

Doesn't feel particularly cold in Oxfordshire, but it is quite windy. I woke up at 6.00, got up and made my mornin drink. By 9.00 I was up and dressed and on the way to the tip with all the cardboard packaging from a new full length kitchen unit that will become a coat cupboard, which DH has been assembling.

He is currently putting the cornice on the other kitchen units, while I start the preparations for lunch by getting the ingredients together on the work top.

Wild, windy and wet in central Scotland! There's quite a bit of damage. Trains are cancelled as a tree fell on overhead cables and caught fire. There's a fence panel down between me and my next door neighbour. Fingers crossed that it doesn't get any worse.

Mollygo Sat 29-Jan-22 11:27:08

It’s a blissful 9 degrees bright and sunny and I’m sitting outside the cafe on the prom with our dog.
Wish I’d brought my gloves though!

Mollygo Sat 29-Jan-22 12:57:37

Take that back! The heavens opened on the way home and a beautiful rainbow was small compensation!

fulltimenana Sat 29-Jan-22 13:10:35

Everyone uses disposable nappies don't they
I'm probably the minority of one using terry nappies

Yes you probably are in a minority regarding terry nappies, although this is the place to come to find out. Look on my washing line and you’d see several hanging out, but that’s because they lasted so long and make such useful hair towels. I only have a few left now. The others went from being nappies, to dusters, to floor cloths then out.

fulltimenana Sat 29-Jan-22 16:38:46

Nothing nicer than a washing line full of nappies

BBbevan Sat 29-Jan-22 19:13:39

Hope everyone in the NE and Scotland is O.K. What with Malik and Corrie next. Stay indoors .

TillyTrotter Sat 29-Jan-22 19:58:40

I saw pictures from Scotland on the news and there was so much damage from the storm and unfortunately a fatality.
Keep safe if you are in an affected area.

South Tyneside - I daren't go out or I would get blown over.
The wind is howling.

Riverwalk Sun 30-Jan-22 10:39:36

I'm back from a brisk 75 minute walk, all bright eyed and bushy-tailed. It's lovely and sunny but cold, about 2C sunshine

Feet up with the papers now smile cafe

crazyH Sun 30-Jan-22 10:44:00

75 minute walk- well done !

Josieann Sun 30-Jan-22 10:44:23

Bright sunshine and crisp on the Devon coast so off out with the dogs.
Our area is on Countryfile tonight if anyone is interested.
