It's great!
Looks like Grayson Perry. (Hope I got that name the right way round)

I was 21 and travelling back to the Midlands from Devon with DH. We saw smoke from the beacons all the way home.

We climbed up a Beacon on Dartmoor, lit a beacon and could see the next one.
I'd forgotten that, it was wonderful!

There was a pub built here, called The Silver Julbilee.
Everyone said it looked almost spaceaged; all square and modern.

It's a morrisons now.

I've just watched The Apprentice Ali08 - three of them couldn't spell Arctic.

I think Feb 6th is the Acession, June is the coronation. I had a coronation mug and a teaspoon.

The coronation was the next year, 1952 so presumably they've chosen that date as a compromise because the weather should be better.

I've got a coronation mug (somewhere) and a teaspoon used daily. I also had a tiny model of the coronation coach and horses but it fell to bits a few years ago.
Just looked £146! I'd have stuck it back together if I'd known.

I’ve got the little coach and horses. It sits on my table to this day!

I have a vague memory of a sweet little coach and horses that I had when I was a child. I wonder if that’s what I’m thinking of? I’ve often thought about it.

You're in charge of decorating the mugs, MissAdventure

In the late 50s early 60s you could buy an orange drink called Jubbly. It was best frozen. It came in triangular pyramid shaped cardboard. It was marketed as Lubbly Jubbly. Maybe HM has an interest???

Iceland sell them.

Thanks Ali08 I thought they'd long gone!
Do you suppose they'll come back as Jubblys for the Jubilee

Yogamum Fri 04-Feb-22 10:33:08

I probably will, but only official items, which by the way are made in England

I’m planning to throw a lubbly jubbly party with lubbly jubbly bubbly to celebrate in June but won’t be buying memorabilia of any sort.

LauraNorderr Fri 04-Feb-22 10:41:25

If I can’t eat it, drink it, wear it or warm my feet on it I don’t see the point of it

Callistemon21 Fri 04-Feb-22 10:42:55

This isn't you, then, LauraNorderr?

Apologies, it's the DM ?

Callistemon21 Fri 04-Feb-22 10:43:51

I might find my Coronation mug and fill it with lubbly bubbly

LauraNorderr Fri 04-Feb-22 11:21:52

No Callistemon definitely not me. I might add to my list of pointlessness that if I have to dust it I don’t want it.

LauraNorderr Fri 04-Feb-22 11:25:02

By the way I had to add the ‘warm my feet on it’ so that Orlin didn’t feel unwanted.

Callistemon21 Fri 04-Feb-22 11:31:03

That's true love ?
