My casting call for naked TV programme.

Following on from the Naked Bike Ride thread, today I received an email casting call from Lost in TV for a programme called Naked Education.
They want to hear from me if I am “interested in releasing myself from the shackles of negative body image.”
Apparently participating in the programme will be a “liberating experience”

So fellow gransnetters, should I go for it?

P.S. I’m 73 and overweight.

Years ago ankles were supposed to be erotic and not to be revealed

My ankles aren't bad ........ ?

I would also like to know how to get those horrible brown lumps removed from face. I did ask my GP but she said it was Rosacea and gave me some cream for it.

Callistemon21 Sat 11-Jun-22 10:44:28

I thought that Rosacea is more of a red rash?

grannybuy Sat 11-Jun-22 10:45:45

I had one of those removed by my doctor when I went to have a wart removed. Unfortunately, I’ve been left with a red, raw looking patch which is irritable and weeps slightly on occasion. It’s just as unsightly as the original.

I wouldn’t, but what you do is entirely up to you.

Nannan2 Sat 11-Jun-22 10:49:15

This is a made up question right?

Dowsabella Sat 11-Jun-22 10:51:34

DillytheGardener Sadly, SKs are no longer removed on the NHS as it is considered cosmetic! I would beg to disagree: I very much doubt any of the decision makers are old enough to have to put up with them. Cost about £200 per SK to go private. I wonder if they would do a discount for quantity... wink

Nannan2 Sat 11-Jun-22 10:52:48

You're right Calistemon21 rosacea IS a red rash..I read an article about it only other day.

Sago

I’ll tell my husband……they may want him for a small part?.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Which small part of him are you offering Sago?

Go for it! I could never even put on a swimsuit in public now let alone be naked on the telly. If you have the confidence then definitely go out there and educate!

Sarongs!!

Go for it! I hate the photoshopped selfies, there’s going to be so much body dysmorphia in the future. I wouldn’t inflict my battered 59year old body on anyone, except for the current husband smile. Fair play to anyone who are happy to do it though!

Deni1 Sat 11-Jun-22 10:58:40

seems not

Nannan2 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:00:32

You all with the crusty things should ask for a referral to dermatology shouldn't you?? It was all in the article, in a magazine I'd not read from last year.(having a clear out so flicked through some articles)

Amalegra Sat 11-Jun-22 11:02:25

The very idea fills me with horror! Nobody-but nobody-sees me without a protective layer of clothes and have not for many years! Even my ex husband (may explain why he is my ex-although perhaps not…!). I don’t even like swimsuits much although I am a smallish size 10 and I’m told I look ok. Can’t understand the current trend for baring all! My daughters,-NOT my son-are quite uninhibited about nudity to my embarrassment! It seems to be a modern trend allied with a peculiar mixture of social media pressure and the body positivity movement (the latter, no bad thing). Wonder what they’ll all think about it when they reach our ages when in addition to all the normal signs of ageing, their bodies might reveal surgical scars etc from all the ‘enhancing’ procedures they’ve had?!

yogagran Sat 11-Jun-22 11:02:25

Esspee "Got them too on my face, couldn’t remember what they were called."
The dermatologist that I was referred to told me that my various skin lumps and scabby bits were "the barnacles of life"

Nannan2 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:03:52

Its a real show? How weird.??

GrammyGrammy Sat 11-Jun-22 11:09:36

If you have no sense of modesty and self respect and want the wicked word porn-gawking at your body then go for it. If however, you are better than you ought to be then just say 'no' and keep your clothes on.

Nannan2 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:11:00

Surely no Dermatologist worth their salt would just dismiss those as that?and do NOTHING when your G.p clearly thought they were enough of a problem to refer you.? I'd ask for a 2nd opinion of a younger more insightful dermatologist if i were you Yogagran.?

Sunnysideup Sat 11-Jun-22 11:12:05

If you have the confidence then definitely go for it Espee. You’re very brave. Don’t think I could do it although I’m quite unique in that I don’t have a belly button! It was removed during major surgery.

Nannan2 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:12:09

GrammyG-?

Nannan2 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:14:08

Oh you've all cheered me up no end..Back to sorting the magazines now though....?

Katie59 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:27:25

Why would I want to humiliate my self publicly on a TV show whose audience is likely to be men laughing at the participants.

Maria59 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:46:38

Oh please do it and let us know the date it will be shown. I fear if I applied the show would be cancelled

Merryweather Sat 11-Jun-22 11:52:04

@sunnysideup. Me neither. Mine was removed during surgery too. I think my abdomen looks like a dot to dot picture after so many operations. I don’t think this is for me. But I’m happy to support those who have the confidence. Go naked gransnetters!!!
