Something meagre or hearty on this dull Sunday morning?

I'm undecided smile

A banana, handful of grapes, Greek yoghurt and a drizzle of honey

Blueberries ( defrosted) cold oats, teaspoon of mixed seeds, Greek yoghurt and sprinkle of cinnamon. The latest addition is what I call my collagen coffee - I stir in powdered collagen supplement in search of a cure for my lousy fingers and as I found glucosamine and chondritin giving me nosebleeds, I’m hoping it will also help the arthritis.

I wish I liked the cereal/fruit/yogurt type of breakfast - dh has muesli and fruit every morning - but I don’t. I hate yogurt anyway.

I’m not usually hungry first thing. I like something savoury rather later. So it might well be an egg or two on toast at 10 or 11-ish. Occasionally it’ll be smoked salmon and cream cheese on a plain bagel - my favourite - usually only when we have guests or at Christmas, though.

For years I ate savoury breakfasts usually some sort of eggs, tomatoes, avocado, etc but then that left me with two other meals to have to think about, so now I have eggs, etc later in the day.

I don't have a sweet tooth but trained myself to like yoghurt, frozen fruit and granola for breakfast - it can be done! grin

But I don’t have lunch as such, Riverwalk - maybe a snack at 3 or 4 - e.g. an apple and some cheese. Creature of habit dh gets his own - more or less the same (healthy enough) things every day.
We have dinner (I cook, he clears up) at around 7.30.

Toasted cheese on bread and butter, my delicious treat on a Sunday morning.

A late breakfast oven baked sausage mushroom and poached egg with rye toast.

Some of these breakfasts sound delicious and have given me lots of ideas on how to make my breakfast more interesting. I usually have granola with a dollop of yoghurt.

DH cooked a lovely cheese omelette served with his delicious greenhouse tomatoes. Lovely way to start the day.

I'm not eating breakfast. I have started 16:8 diet, just lunch and tea and nothing in between.

Med and water grin. Breakfast is usually porridge and fruit. As it’s Sunday we will be having bacon rolls for brunch.

Sunday is our naughty day. OH pops out for his Sunday papers and fresh rolls while I make a start on the crispy streaky bacon, black pudding and potato scones. Delicious!

During the week it usually is cereal or porridge with fruit and yoghurt and occasionally crushed avocado on toast, sometimes with a poached egg on top.

I had a good brekkie today. Muesli, passion fruit yoghurt and a banana with a nice cup of coffee. Usually I have one slice of fruit toast. Felt fat though 🐷

MrsKen33 Sun 30-Oct-22 10:35:02

No breakfast as 16:8 diet. Lunch will be scrambled eggs and smoked salmonwith fruit to follow. But it seems a long wait today.

Nothing.

I've just eaten my overnight oats. Oats, blueberries, natural yoghurt and honey. Lovely.

Next week, friend and I are going to try a crazy day of pensioner specials courtesy Messrs Ikea and Asda. Really looking forward to the daftness of it!

It's the weekend so two slices of wholemeal bread with marmite for me, 3 with blackcurrant jam for OH. And coffee of course - there has to be coffee no matter what else!
Very sad that jam is a bought one this year - haven't got the fruit bushes up and running in our new garden yet.

Maggierose Sun 30-Oct-22 11:18:59

I had porridge with berries and a banana, cup of coffee at 8.30 but am hungry again so will toast a bagel to have with a fried egg.

Theexwife Sun 30-Oct-22 11:23:39

The same for the last 50 years, two cups of tea two slices of toast with marmalade.

Eaten at about 10am, I next eat at 7pm.

Ooh, I love the sound of potato scones! Must Google a recipe. I could now really fancy some crispy streaky bacon, too. Plus mushrooms and tomatoes. 😋

Croissants, my Sunday treat. The rest of the week it's porridge, although it does fill me up better as I'm already thinking what to have for lunch...
