Something meagre or hearty on this dull Sunday morning?

I'm undecided smile

muesli and a clementine. Couldn’t face porridge this morning. I will supplement it with Lancashire cheese and an apple shortly.

A cranberry and walnut muffin, washed down with a giant mug of coffee.😋

Smoothie with linseeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, walnuts, almonds, brazils, jumbo oats, a chopped apple, frozen summer fruits and oat milk. Whizzed up in my magic bullet and so thick it needs a huge, stainless steel smoothie straw to drink it. I can only have it on five days each week because it's so calorific it would double my fasting day allowance!

I'm weighing-in at Slimming World tomorrow so today's breakfast was half a grapefruit, 2 satsumas, 2 kiwis and a drizzle of honey. It was delicious.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that, having over-indulged during the week, I won't have gained too much weight

Smoked mackerel with two poached eggs and bread with butter. Coffee.

Big dish of Del Monte prunes in juice, warmed in the microwave. Yum.

Rolled oats with oat milk done in the microwave, with sliced banana and blueberries 😋

I would normally just have toast (usually with butter and Marmite) but this morning, OH and I had rolls with proper butcher's bacon, cut in front of us in the butcher's shop. It was a real treat to have 'proper' bacon instead of the prepacked supermarket stuff and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oxfordgran, I miss blancmange too.

Brunch.

I hope you are feeling better soon BlueBalalou.

I don’t usually feel like eating much before noon but today DH and I decided to go out for brunch. It sounds pretty much like what many of you have for breakfast frequently. Good yoghurt topped by a mixture of nice nutty granola ,sliced banana, blueberries and raspberries. With a mini jar of honey on the side. Followed by an excellent cup of strong but decaffeinated black coffee. It took until 7 o’clock for either of us to feel like eating this evening.

I had warm water and lemon, rather too much jollof rice, (just finished what was left in the pan,) two cumberland sausages, green beans, all unreheated, two satsumas and a square of 70% Lindt. Then I felt a little queasy so made a pot of coffee, Rich Italian, felt much better.
My favourite breakfast, usually only once a year, often furtively partaken, on 27 December, is fridge raided, stone cold sherry trifle.

In our house, it’s tradition to eat left over trifle for breakfast on Boxing Day.

O good, it isn’t just me ! We traditionally had our trifle on Boxing Day, thats how I was late to the party. I made a layer of pink blancmange beneath the custard, havn’t seen it available for years, gone away with tapioca, sago and Huntley and Palmers Breakfast Biscuits.

I rarely have anything other than milky coffee for breakfast. Sometimes I will have rice cakes with mashed avocado and smoked salmon or cucumber, lemon juice and black pepper at 11. If I manage to eat a full fried breakfast it makes me feel I’ll afterwards. I don’t have much of an appetite at the moment (but am not losing weight either 🙄), my heart failure has ramped up a bit so I get breathless eating ☹️

Porridge, made with steel cut oats, water and salt. Gobbled up with whole milk on the side. Food of the gods!

mokryna Sun 30-Oct-22 12:36:41

I don’t usually eat breakfast but my holiday away has finished so cheered myself up with a walk to the local boulangerie and fromager. Bought and have eaten a pain aux raisins followed by a small chunk of comté washed down with a black sugarless coffee, well I have to watch my weight sometimes.

Joseanne Sun 30-Oct-22 12:35:58

All this talk of lovely fruit is tempting me, but I don't have any in stock.
DH is away on cathedral chorister duty this WE, so I did the brunch option which took about 15 minutes.

Forsythia Sun 30-Oct-22 12:21:58

Porridge with frozen berries on top, done in the microwave. Coffee afterwards. I try to eat healthily but not always successful. Fruit and yoghurt in the summer more than winter.

1summer Sun 30-Oct-22 12:18:25

I usually have defrosted blueberries and black cherries, half a banana, greek yogurt topped with mixed seeds, But today I had porridge with chia seeds topped with blueberries.

Nannabumble70 Sun 30-Oct-22 11:57:46

That is half a lemon
