As a youngster I always liked the coffee creams that were included in many boxed selections. Over the years these seemed to be fazed out. Imagine my delight this morning, I had been gifted a small box of Black Magic by my lovely neighbour and to my delight there was coffee creams included in the selection.
What's your best or least favourite in a box of choccies?

I'm another coffee cream fan and miss them. I was very sad when I discovered that you can no longer get Clarnico peppermint creams, I loved those.
My daughter bought me my very own Quality Street tin (****' Street) for my birthday. It contained the green triangles and the purple hazelnut caramels, my favourites.

I adore coffee creams and were so disappointed when Black Magic didn't do them anymore. I have searched around and am going to order some from Audrey's Chocolates (they supply Fortnums) and will get a whole box of just coffee creams. Yum.

Orange creams, peppermint creams, rose and violet creams.

I LOVE coffee creams. Like you say hard to find. Thornton did a cappuccino one. I used to treat my self to a bag now and again. They also did a bar. Don't like other soft creams like strawberry etc.
Bring back coffee creams!

I still long for the Toffee and Mallow ones that were in Black Magic. I used to buy them for my Dad, and he would then let me take my favourite Toffee and Mallow,
Does anyone know if there is anythng like this still around?

When I was a child, there was always a contest between me and my father for the coffee cream in the Black Magic box. Nowadays, I'd go for any truffle or a chocolate ginger.

Coffee creams were always one of my favourite flavours. I like almost all the soft centres but have never liked nuts. Marzipan and desiccated coconut would be the very worst for me.

I love a box of chocolates - always feels very decadent. Coffee creams are my favourite; I like the Thornton's ones.

My aunt bought my mum a box of After Eights every year - took many years for mum to 'fess up that she doesn't like peppermint chocolates! We did though!

Esmay, may I recommend my father's technique?

Esmay Thu 22-Dec-22 19:11:36

I love nuts enrobed in chocolate and hate anything , which has a cream centre .

Greyduster, that is a nice memory!

I prefer cream centers of any type, and will leave the nuts for someone else. We were given a box of Lindor chocolates at work on Tuesday, and on Wed. morning, there were a few coffee pralines left the next morning that I enjoyed.

Goodness, you’re as fussy lot. I like them all!

My lovely dad disliked soft centres in chocolates, so checked out each one in the box by squishing them with a finger ( no tiresome reading of the insert for him). I smile still when I get to eat from a box with no finger marks, and he's been gone for over a quarter of a century

My dad always used to buy me a small box of Black Magic when he took me to the cinema. I loved the coffee cream, but my out and out favourite was toffee and mallow. Dad liked the hazelnut one and the orange cream.

AskAlice Thu 22-Dec-22 18:29:12

I also love coffee creams. The very worst ones when I was a young child were ones that tasted of soap! I think they were ginger creams - anyone else remember them?

saltnshake Thu 22-Dec-22 18:23:29

Love coffee creams, hate orange and strawberry creams and as for marzipan...

pandapatch Thu 22-Dec-22 18:12:33

I love coffee creams too, and most others, not so keen on fruit creams. By the way Black Magic were my mum's favourites!

Oldnproud Thu 22-Dec-22 17:31:27

... Coffee creams came next in that list ...

Oldnproud Thu 22-Dec-22 17:30:37

My least favourites were orange/strawberry creams, and Turkish delight. Coffee creams came in that list. I didn't eat any of them.
As an adult, I would now eat the coffee creams, but only when the ones I really like are all gone grin

gulligranny Thu 22-Dec-22 17:21:46

Coffee creams for me too, but as a general thing I don't really like filled chocolates - just give me the outside, not the inside. I particularly don't like fruit flavoured centres, so I'll save any strawberry creams for those who like them. Not a great coconut lover either, but I do like a Bounty Bar.

GagaJo Thu 22-Dec-22 17:21:15

Lurve coffee creams. My first choice. Mmmm

Marthjolly1 Thu 22-Dec-22 17:17:10

I'm a coffee cream lover. Not the fruit creams though. Black Magic are the best chocolates ever. Thankyou for reminding me to put them on my shopping list tomorrow.

Katyj Thu 22-Dec-22 17:03:58

Oh I love coffee cream too. I used to love the toffee and mallow in black magic and the lime barrel in milk tray.

AGAA4 Thu 22-Dec-22 16:27:33

I love coffee creams. Also nuts, marzipan but don't like any of the other cream chocs.

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 22-Dec-22 16:22:30

ExperiencedNotOld - I agree about the coffee ice cream. I make my own. I'm happy to swap marzipan chocs for any other, especially coffee ones or Turkish delight. Classy chocolate is wasted on me....
