Is there anyone else like me who don't want to travel anymore but my husband does. We did a lot of travel in the past and now at the age of 76 my husband 7 years younger I don't have the energy. I do volunteering work and have other activities without my husband which I find is refreshing. He likes to walk and food shop. Any advice?

It's the opposite in my family. DH hates travelling, but I love it. It's not being away that he doesn't like, it's the actual process of getting there. The problem with living in Canada is the huge distances to go anywhere! I envy you in UK that are one flight, or a train ride away from other European countries.

I've often said that I am on vacation the minute I finish work, my DH isn't on vacation until he arrives at the destination, checked in, and can relax with a beer.

I think in a happy marriage you have to find a middle ground and compromise that you can both be happy with. My husband and I travelled for a few years once our children grew up and we both enjoyed it but then Covid hit and unfortunately my attitude changed completely. I no longer wanted the faff of going through airports etc. It was making him unhappy not to travel though so the compromise has been to book our first cruise. Husband still gets to see lots of places and make all the arrangements he enjoys. I hopefully dont have the travel hassle. Will be interesting to see how we get on. Maybe I will get the love of travel back. I do realise there are so many wonderful places to see in this world both at home and abroad.
