What a glorious start to the day! sunshine

I'm off for a yomp before it gets too hot and humid - predicted to reach 29C later.

I’m near you mrsgreenfingers, baking hot this morning, dogs out at 8am. I did some cutting back of flowers that have finished and planted from three pots as it seemed clear we were to have a glorious, much needed downpour
The young lab insisted on supervising the planting but the sensible older spaniel spread out near the fan. Young lab also spark out now
It’s rather stuffy indoors

Pouring down here in Lancashire. All my buckets are out collecting the rainwater, dear me how sad am I?

Callistemon21 Sun 25-Jun-23 15:14:59

It's mid 20sC here, cloudy on and off, but so windy I've retreated inside for a while.

Glorious day!

Glorious day on the South Downs facing the sea, which means we get a delightful on shore breeze that takes the edge off the heat.

I bet the beaches are busy. Children next door have a visit from “nana” and are playing in the paddling pool.

I’m listening to the bees on the lavender in between the children’s happy chatter.

Lovely lovely summer days.

It is absolutely baking today, hottest day we've had this week I think NW Surrey). Bit of a breeze but it's a warm one so not helpful except to dry the clothes. Had to go out and do a quick bit of shopping this morning as we've got to go away unexpectedly and I detoured through Sainsbury (where I didn't need to go) just to cool off by the freezers 😁

Just went outside to hang some washing and it is 34c in my garden in Norfolk. Back in to my cold fan very quickly.

Been to allotment and watered, we have to hand pump the water! Picked a lot of gooseberries, more than the three pounds that I picked yesterday. Allotment cafe is open on Sundays, lovely coffee and delicious victoria sponge. Local fair this afternoon for church funds, pity those having to work there! We'll probably go, but not for too long.

Rain coming down and stoating off the ground ....our garden really needs it and to be honest I did a wee dance in the rain in the back garden to celebrate .It was lovely

stoatng that's a new one on me 😀

I remember in 1976 I think it was Bristol City Council invited a native American chief to come and do a rain dance to try to break the long drought.

The other week, the boys at one school in Wales asked if they could wear shorts to school in the hot weather. They were told no so some of them turned up in skirts (the girls are allowed to wear skirts or trousers).
Last year pupils a DGD's school were told they had to keep their blazers and ties on despite the heatwave. I think parents protested and the head relented.
Australian summer school uniforms are much more sensible - smart short-sleeved shirts, shorts and a hat.

Just back from church and now I am staying in the coolest room of the house for as long as possible today.

Sunday - and I started the day with an hours heavygardening, continuing to clear a border that has been neglected fr 2 years for health reasons. I started work at 6,45 and had finished by 8.00, It was deliciously cool then.

I am just in from cutting the grass, I thought it would be OK because it is a motor mower and I just need to gently walk behind it. Actually, I have just come in all hot and sweaty and I have splashed water all over my upper half, including my T shirt and drunk a litre of water.

Glorious sunshine in Berkshire; light breeze stirring the trees.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 25-Jun-23 10:15:18

Another glorious day here in S E Essex, blue sky, sunshine and warmth, meant to reach 30.

Grannybags Sun 25-Jun-23 10:14:45

We're on holiday on the Isle of Mull. It's absolutely peeing down!

MrsKen33 Sun 25-Jun-23 10:09:40

S W Wales. Dull but very humid. No rain forecast.

Riverwalk Sun 25-Jun-23 09:58:04

I was up and out at 07.30 before it was too hot and humid - it was a mere 20C but forecast to be 31C later sunshine

I walked for 90 minutes but not so briskly as usual - will try not to slob around for the rest of the day!

Squiffy

Over 36° in our back garden! 😱 I’m hiding in the house!

It’s 35° on our patio and not much less further down the garden ☹️
Indoors it’s comfortable thankfully.

Auntieflo Sat 10-Jun-23 15:00:00

We overslept this morning, so went out for a late coffee.
I had a couple of cards to buy and post. It was very pleasant in Waitrose, where I bought a couple of things.
Had a wander round the market, bought flowers, Berkshire Blue cheese and cherries. DD is coming tomorrow, so she will probably eat the cherries, and SIL will devour the cheese.
Indoors now with the fan going, and my feet up for a snooze.

sharon103 Sat 10-Jun-23 14:21:50

Quite hot in Northamptonshire. 27 degrees predicted.
I had intended to plant a lot of plants in the garden today but I will leave it until next week. I don't want them to wither and die.
I'm hoping for rain. I can't remember when we last had some.

MrsKen33 Sat 10-Jun-23 14:13:16

It’s raining. Not a deluge but wet.

Warm with weak sunshine here, South West. Took a long walk and it was pleasant, not too hot.

My garden is crying out for rain, which I hope will come sometime this weekend. Fed up watering.

MrsKen33 Sat 10-Jun-23 12:29:40

Warm and dull here, in SW Wales. We are longing for rain as the gardens are parched.
