Have been to several Balls with DH and AS’s along with their wives/partners so I have danced formally with all of them.

I’ve enjoyed reading your replies thanks, I think I was feeling sorry for myself yesterday after spending the whole weekend on my own family all busy doing their thing lol.

I went to a friend’s second wedding, when she was in her 50’s, and she was swung around by her adult son in one of the dances.

I mentioned this later to my DIL. Said “I can’t imagine (my DS, her husband) dancing with me like that”.

She replied”Only if he were very drunk!”.

That just about summed it up.

Think I had to have a dance with SIL at my DD’s wedding, but not comfortable with dancing, with anyone really.

There are many things I regret, usually done in the heat of the moment or when I was being ruled by my passions or emotions. The things I have done with my "business" head on I dont regret. Nowadays my head rules, never my heart.

Regrets? I've had a few but then again..........

Me too! :D

There are things I wish I'd done, mostly in the self-expression/self-worth area of my life, but I don't really regret them, they've made me who I am, and I rather like me.

My one regret tanith is not saying what I really think! One day I’ll remedy this.

At rare family parties years ago I danced with my family so no regrets about that.

I've never danced with my adult son. Is this a particular tradition?

I have a several regrets (which don't dominate my life) but they all affected the course of my life and where I am today.

Me and my daughter always end up dancing at family get togethers.
We have parties with our neighbours particularly in the summer. Me and my next door neighbour start the dancing and then they all join in. 💃.

I danced with my children whilst they were all children and with my dear departed Dad. I have no regrets about dancing.

If I had regrets, and I try not too as a bit pointless, it would be not working harder at school and some poor career choices and not visiting my dear parents as often as I could have done. (I did go at least weekly, most of their lives and they did live quite near to me)

It struck me today that I’ve never danced with my son as an adult how sad is that. We aren’t a family for parties and there haven’t been many weddings etc, and he moved abroad 15yrs ago a long partnership but no wedding. It’s made me feel very sad.
