Narrow gusset in knickers

I buy mine from Bon Marche. Pack of 3 for £10 - I think

I am struggling as my normal M and S midi knickers are no longer sold, they say their shorts have replaced them. They are not the same and do not fit me.

I have complained to M and S many times about this! Midi pants were great and now we have shorts which are not the same and a useless replacement.

One assistant I complained to said she would report my complaint but she wished she had a pound for every similar complaint. She said she has personally taken hundreds of complaints.

I always wear Sloggi. They are made from cotton and there is nothing skimpy about how they are made.

I buy them online direct usually when there is an offer on and they last for years.

Oh I have enjoyed reading this lot and agree with all the comments but have had such a laugh at Merlotgran s comment and have a wonderful picture of Maggie smith as the countess grantham saying
"period pants? What are period pants?" in the same tone as she said " A weekend? What is a Weekend?" I shall be smiling as I look at various pants in the shop with that image in my mind!!

I’m with Sloggi too. I love that there’s no irritating side seams.

They do seem pricey but they do last and last. Excellent price per wear😁

I'm so glad someone has raised this problem as I find most knickers too narrow to cover my essentials.
The most comfortable knickers I have at the moment cost me just £1 a pair! Hard to believe but they were in one of those corner shops selling everything you can think of.
My only problem was that the shop is owned by Asian men and it was a bit embarrassing going to the check out with a pile of ladies knickers.

Why? They aren't embarrassed to sell them!

Glad Sloggis are still going- I used to love them.

Just came here because this is another old thread- but I suppose the new comments are just as relevant...

I'm sorry to be contrary but I find some knickers have a gusset (can't think of another word!) that is too wide and this is uncomfortable too.
If a panty liner is too wide you can fold under each side of the pad to make it narrower.
I find M&S period pants a bit uncomfortable (gussetwise....if there is such a word?) But I love the idea of not having to wear panty liners.

I've got some marvellous drawers.
Not much to look at, but so sturdy and sensible.

I made a thread asking for recommendations, then followed my instinct.

Gusset isn't just used for knickers but bags have gusset. My dad called knickers bum bags so perhaps they is a comparison.

I have always wore M&S knickers and find the knickers fit perfect size 16. It's their tights I have to size up in so wear XXL.

I think I've seen a gusset mentioned on a dress making pattern, or something.

No idea how, as I've never made anything, let alone a dress!

If you are someone who shops online, the German company Schiesser does top quality underwear and nightwear that lasts for ages.
I gave up on M&S due to issues of quality, finish and skimping and find Schiesser super.

Apparently, you bleed straight onto the gusset with period pants. Can't see them catching on; too risky.

Period pants had enough problems when there was Dr Whites and the sanitary belt. It was a relief when Always came on the market bulky but at least absorb. Glad I had a hysterectomy at 38.

Where would you keep worn period or incontinence knickers, before you've got a wash load of them?

Or do you hand wash them?

No, that doesn't appeal to me at all.

I once saw a pair of knickers for £80 in a Bond Street store; I believe they had a hand-sewn gusset.
