Heat has exploded small tealight on window sill

note to self…remove all glassware off window sills -had beautifully painted tall tealight my DD gave me about 25years ago and now in pieces… can’t understand as the tealight was inside another candle holder - anyone else experienced glass shattering in heat?

The other thing that could happen is that glass, particularly paperweights and mirrors, can intensify the sun's rays if on a windowsill and could be a fire hazard.

Ever since seeing a house near me burn to the ground I’m very very aware of glass, and especially mirrors anywhere near bright sun rays.
A mirror was the cause of that fire.
