I thought this looked lovely for a Spring coat but my very conservative son told me not to be ridiculous. I'm still tempted. Would you wear something so loud?

Nanato3 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:38:44

Not For Me.

MrsQuigley Tue 11-Feb-25 13:44:15

Beautiful coat but I wouldn’t wear it, I like to fade into the background not stand out. (Says more about me than the coat).

Aveline Tue 11-Feb-25 13:50:03

You wear it if you'd like to. I wouldn't though. It's all round too much form me. I'd prefer either quieter colours or smaller checks. It looks vaguely clownish. Sorry.

Aldom Tue 11-Feb-25 13:51:04

That coat reminds me of being taken to the circus as a child. One of the stars, a clown wore a similar coat. grin So it's a no from me.

Luckygirl3 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:51:47

I love it - but the flippy floppy sleeves would be a darned nuisance.

SpanielCuddler Tue 11-Feb-25 13:59:22

Good for you. My daughter would have loved it!
Reminds me of Elmer.

Visgir1 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:59:56

Yes... It's right up my street.

Wear what you want and ignore everybody else. Much better than boring black.

winterwhite Tue 11-Feb-25 14:07:44

Yes! Enjoy wearing it.

Nanicky Tue 11-Feb-25 15:49:48

Love it!! I would wear it,I'm tall, look lovely with jeans, and very cheerful.

I got it. He made me change into the black one to go out!

"He made you" Why did you change out of it? He sounds so so miserable, tell him to loosen up. Is he old before his time?

J52 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:10:45

It’s lovely, I’m too short to wear it, but I have a similar scarf and orange mohair coat!

Smileless2012 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:11:52

I think it's great and glad you bought it. The next time you're going out with your son, tell him in advance that you'll be wearing it and if he doesn't like it, you'll go out on your own.

Parsley3 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:15:08

Where did you buy it kirkcubbin? It looks so toasty and I love a warm coat.

Romola Tue 11-Feb-25 16:23:02

I love bright colours and I'm sooo fed up with my boring but useful black coat.
But I'm also quite stingy and would work out how much it might cost me per wearing. I would wear that coat if I thought it would earn its keep.

NotAGran55 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:23:05

If I was a 6’ tall extrovert I would , as long as it was autumn colours and not spring.

NonGrannyMoll Tue 11-Feb-25 16:31:02

I would love to wear it but I'm not sure whether I'd have the courage. In my 20s during the hippy era, I wore a lot of weird stuff and yes, I know we should wear whatever the heck we like (please don't quote that damnable purple & orange poem at me or I'll vomit) but, in 2025 in my 70s, I'd need a deal more chutzpah and a lot less avoir dupois than I have left now.

Retread Tue 11-Feb-25 16:31:24

That coat would wear me! (I’m 5’3”).

Good for you having bought it - despite conservative son smile

eazybee Tue 11-Feb-25 16:37:52

No.
I am 5'2" and would be swamped.
If you like it, go for it.

Grandma70s Tue 11-Feb-25 16:42:19

I’ve got the height to wear it, and I’ve never been shy, but all the same I don’t think I’d like to be quite as conspicuous as that!

HowVeryDareYou2 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:42:49

It looks like something Zandra Rhodes would wear.

grannyrebel7 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:47:04

No never!

Nannylovesshopping Tue 11-Feb-25 16:48:01

I love it, utterly fabulous!

Cabbie21 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:50:34

Not for me, I’m too short, but glad you bought it. Don’t let your son stop you wearing it.

sharon103 Tue 11-Feb-25 16:53:38

No. Not even if you paid me.
