I thought this looked lovely for a Spring coat but my very conservative son told me not to be ridiculous. I'm still tempted. Would you wear something so loud?

Crazygrandma60 Wed 12-Feb-25 17:35:19

I love it and would definitely wear it if I were a little taller x

SilverFoxette75 Wed 12-Feb-25 17:42:25

I’d wear it if it were more fitted, I’m not a fan of all the oversized clothes in shops

Margiknot Wed 12-Feb-25 17:44:34

I imagine that would look lovely on my taller similar aged friend ( who suits the orange turquoise and yellowgreens ( spring colours) in this coat. I might consider a similar petite fit coat in blue or red based or summery colours, but even cut shorter a bold pattern may swamp me.

Yes, I would love to - if I were a foot taller!

Jaye53 Wed 12-Feb-25 18:29:40

I would in black and white. it swamps the model wearing it in my opinion looks far too big for her.

You sound like a lot of fun! How did you end up with such a conservative (or dull) son? If I were your friend I would insist on taking you out to lunch to show off you and the coat

No. It's the sort of coat (whoever wears it) that brings to mind someone who has multiple piercings and tatts plus multi coloured hair.

Yeah Baby!
Colourful hair, piercings & tats ect.
They would look fabulous with this controversial coat & would complete the look nicely.
Bob's your uncle & Fanny's your aunt.
Job done! 😉

If I was taller and slimmer I'd wear it, it's lovely, but unfortunately it would make me look like a table with Queen Anne legs grin

Mojack26 Wed 12-Feb-25 19:58:59

No not for me but if you like it.....

Mojack26 Wed 12-Feb-25 20:01:04

No..... but if you like it buy it. Not up to your son

Sawsage2 Wed 12-Feb-25 20:31:22

In one word, NO

Kartush Wed 12-Feb-25 21:05:13

If I were a foot taller and 6 feet thinner I would most certainly wear it. Tell your son th pull his head in 😂

Ellie Anne Wed 12-Feb-25 22:13:27

I m too small.it would drown me. But if you are tall enough to carry it off go for it.

Sarahr Wed 12-Feb-25 22:26:57

Yes.

Gingster Wed 12-Feb-25 23:06:56

I love it but wouldn’t wear it at my age.

cornergran Wed 12-Feb-25 23:15:25

I’d definitely try it on, if it suited me then of course I’d go out in it. As far as sons go I know one would egg me on, the other would look horrified and sigh a lot. I’m good at ignoring that one grin. Enjoy it kirkcubbin, it’s a coat to lift spirits.

Eloethan Wed 12-Feb-25 23:23:52

It wouldn't suit me at all, I am only 4 foot 11.

I don't really like it anyway, but I think people should wear what appeals to them and what they feel comfortable in.

Allira Wed 12-Feb-25 23:31:09

Not how I imagined you, Eloethan
Surprising how we think we know what posters look like 😃
Eloethan - tall and willowy.

You've just described my son's girlfriend. A more lovely young woman you couldn't hope to meet, absolute heart of gold 🤗

I’m sorry but I think it’s awful. And I usually like quirky clothes sad.

HiPpyChick57 Thu 13-Feb-25 03:00:01

I definitely would wear it.
Warm and cheerful.
I love bright colours.

Lilikemaho Thu 13-Feb-25 06:06:14

Totally agree its hoaching

Aldom Thu 13-Feb-25 08:48:36

I had to look up the word hoaching.
It's Scottish slang, meaning, amongst other things, decidedly unpleasant.
Every day's a school day. smile

Tenko Thu 13-Feb-25 12:28:44

I love it , I love bright colours but at 5 2” I’m too short , it would drown me .

Shelflife Thu 13-Feb-25 13:38:29

If you like it you wear it! I love it.
