I thought this looked lovely for a Spring coat but my very conservative son told me not to be ridiculous. I'm still tempted. Would you wear something so loud?

Sorry I can't hear you.

I never wear anything with orange in it. I don't like anything orange, unless it's natural, fruit, flowers etc. I especially don't like it when it's next to yellows, reds and pinks. If they were in shades of blue I'd probably wear it as long as it didn't weigh to much.

Aren't I picky shock.

I would be very unlikely to see anyone wearing a coat like that in my neck of the woods maddyone. I understand people liking colour, but the number who like that coat has astonished me.

Astonished me too😂
Somebody tall -ish, slim and stunning may get away with it possibly.
Depends where you wear it as well, may only get a few glances in London but stop traffic in other places😲

I'd need to be at least 6' tall before considering, otherwise, I'd feel like a clown in a blanket.

Beautiful coat, but I am too short to wear something with such a big pattern. I love the bright colours; why are coats so dull? I was out to lunch last week and watched people walking past the restaurant windows, they were nearly all wearing black ( and not even a nice crisp black) long padded coats, all so very dull. Why not a nice bright red, or purple?

I have a bright red coat! Bought it about 14 months ago from M&S and I always get lovely comments when I wear it. Go bright - it's a cheer-up on the cold grim days!

OMG it’s gorgeous
Yes, yes, yes

I like it, but I’m not sure I could carry it off. I do have some colourful coats and jackets though. I wore what I thought was a rather nice Boden one in Berlin. As we were walking through a crowded square we spotted an “interesting” American lady heading our way, weaving and waving and hollering out to anyone who took her fancy. As she got near to us she stopped and pointed and shouted “Ah, here comes a lady with a very lovely smile….and a very ugly coat.” grin

If you like it wear it! Personally I would not, reminds me of Elmer the elephant.

oodles Wed 12-Feb-25 15:14:33

I'd wear it, if I could get a length and size that fitted me try telling your son what he can't wear and see how that goes down!

If instead of somebody you don’t know on a forum, your best friend had asked your advice about this technicolour coat would you have answered in the same way?

I would have answered the same, I like it and would wear it.

I am so fed up with boring clothes.

Beejay3 Wed 12-Feb-25 15:22:12

I think it would be great for me with my white hair!!

I think it is lovely, may not be for everyone, but if you like it then wear it and enjoy it. I, for one, am sick of beige, grey and boring, I love colour.

thomasina34 Wed 12-Feb-25 15:39:04

Yes I would I already have coats and jackets similar, a nice pair of black trousers and a top underneath will look lovely

I would if it were more fitted- the fashion is for them to look big I think but I'd end up looking like a roll end of carpet!

Roll end of carpet!! 🤣🤣🤣

Laurie86 Wed 12-Feb-25 16:08:53

You bet I would! It's beautiful.

Naughtyneine Wed 12-Feb-25 16:12:00

I would but DH would probably say Coco the Clown wants his costume back....

GrammaH Wed 12-Feb-25 16:21:36

Yes I certainly would! I've just bought this coat and asi stepped out of the car, the first person I saw said what a beautiful coat it is. It's lovely & cheerdmful and I feel really great in it. It's lovely to have some nice bright colours at this really dreary time of the year

Ladyripple Wed 12-Feb-25 16:24:26

I would absolutely wear this ,love bright colours and they are what I wear all the time.I am 77.

Just because I am old doesn’t mean I am going to wear a boring beige jumper and pair of M and S classic trousers.

knspol Wed 12-Feb-25 16:49:24

Personally I wouldn't wear it but it looks great and I would admire it on anyone else just not my style. If you like it, go for it!

Oh, how true, Oreo! It’s easier to change the coat. Though DH likes it - because it’s easier to find me amongst all the other - ahem - mature ladies in M & S.

Ilovedogs22 Wed 12-Feb-25 17:04:00

Yes HelenIouise! I'm only 5ft tall & have be careful what I wear or I can look like twit!
My husband says my mouth makes up for it, I just take that as a compliment, ignorance is bliss. 😊

Ilovedogs22 Wed 12-Feb-25 17:10:49

Please my forgive pigeon English!
My husband has flustered me again & not in a good way. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

CanadianGran Wed 12-Feb-25 17:30:53

I wouldn't, but I would admire it if someone else did!

I just hate the huge fit... the shoulders are drooping and it's much too large on her.
this one from sezane has a better fit, in my opinion:
