Legal immigration if they have a family in uk

If only we could come back in 100 years. We wouldn’t recognise the country we grew up in. Different cultures, different faiths, many not trying to integrate. Many from countries who currently want to wipe each other out. We are just inviting trouble by allowing so many people to come here. We should be helping them in their own country. In the last couple of years the town I live in is unrecognisable from 10 years ago.

Hardly overwhelming and hardly surprising that some women would see an opportunity to get a better life. I often see frankly very unattractive men with attractive younger women who look to be Philippino and wonder how long she’ll be a bought wife

Whether they’re Philippine, Thai or whatever, there’s a long history of marriages like this happening. However, what they’re not doing is landing here with destroyed documents, committing criminal offences, they support themselves or their new spouse supports them in exchange for the obvious. This is not what people are getting angry about.
This is a diversion tactic, the same as droning on about the Empire.
What people are frustrated and angry about is the here and now.

Nothing new with that information. It’s been a thing here in the southeast for many years.
We know a Serbian who came to the uk and claimed to be from Kosovo ( Balkan war )
He set up his first car wash ( money laundering was a lot easier then) bought property, bought more car washes, employed more illegal migrants, housed them in the property he had bought sleeping cheek by jowl.
And on it goes.

I have never been to a protest of any kind in all my life. I strongly suspect you have and do.

I see that intel is finally paying off.
I’ve mentioned here before the corruption at the Bulgaria / Turkish border.
I lived in Bulgaria for some years and made many trips across that border with a friend who imported gold/silver into Bulgaria. There was an import tax to be paid unless the your friendly 😉 border guard came on board.

When a refugee who has married a British citizen and has a British-born child is allowed to stay without waiting seven years to find out if they can stay and not be deported, then perhaps Sir Keir could think about it!

Some only marry a British Citizen to stay in the country.
Lots of women from the Philippines do that . They'll marry anyone to stay in UK.

It's fact . I know of 2 women who did this and a lot of men go to the Philippines and come back with a wife .

They plan it all. I know 3 older men who have married Thai women and they all spend ages on the phone to Thai friends who now live over here.
The men are pleased they have a connection until they run off to be with their friends miles away. Very cunning.

100 years ago the Jewish population of the UK had grown considerably due to immigration from Eastern European, synagogues were being being built and Jewish institutions established.
The more it changes, the more it’s the same.

True Primrose as many had Britieh passports and so many have been and are a great asset to the country although some of ther racial discrimination was terrible at the time.

You obviously know nothing about asylum. There are no legal means, apart from a few special cases like getting Ukrainians out of the Ukraine to UK. Anyone seeking refuge in the UK, has to first be in the UK.

I've just read an article about unlicensed HMOs in and around London - a fast growing situation, where four people are sharing a small room with two double beds, and recently a fire killed occupants. You would have to be made of stone to not feel pity for many immigrants, struggling to make a better life, but where are they to live? How do we educate children, when some schools have portakabins in the playgrounds, and nineteen different languages to cope with? (Barking - Gascoigne School - a recent documentary) There is no easy answer, that much is obvious, but how much longer can this country absorb, and fund, mass immigration? The genie is rapidly struggling out of the bottle, as has been seen in Epping recently.

19 different languages? 41 !!! in a local Primary School near me. How on earth can any teacher cope with that?

I believe there are schools in Leicester with even more languages spoken.

I have seen photos in the Leicester Mercury of classes of children with not a single white child on the photo. Not a single one!

My friend came here when she was 5 (so about 1958) from the island of St Kitts. Her parents came first and she came a bit later having been looked after back home by grandparents.

You have to remember that they left very poor backgrounds in very primitive homes with little money. We needed them and they rightly knew we offered them a better future, that’s why most have stayed, including my friend.
