Sometimes a post resonates with me and I would love to know the outcome.
Two that stick in my mind was a lady having dreadful problems with a painful leg which needed regular dressing. She was clearly very distressed by the poor treatment from her GP surgery and the pain and constant weeping from her leg.
The other was a Granny who had given a box of biscuits to the playgroup staff when her GD left to go to school. Granny had collected her 4 days a week for a couple of years so had got to know them. It was her way of saying thank you. When her daughter found out she hit the roof and stopped speaking to her Mum.
Both these posts had pages of replies but I would love to know if the lady is no longer suffering with her leg and if, now that term has started, the daughter has started speaking to her Mum again, if only to ask for lifts to and from school.
Do other GN's wonder how some posters have got on?

I rather miss FannyCornforth , though I believe she decided to leave.
ferry you have been to hell and back this year, and hopefully you will not need to return to the surgery for dressings ever again.
It is difficult to put all that behind you and move on, but at least you will no longer be forking out for taxi fares.
Look after yourself and you know we are here to help if required.
What I take from this thread is that many of us do care about people we don't really know...
And that is a very good thing - and one to be welcomed and thankful for!

I'm the leg lady!
I'm just back from my 5th visit to the Wound Clinic. There's been a couple of glitches along the way, but the leg is now healed and today, after almost 9months, we ditched the horrible compression bandages and I now have a compression sock.
I've to try with the sock until next week's appointment but I can call on the District Nurses if I have any problems before then.
I just wish I'd known about the Wound Clinic 9 months ago, and also that I could have had my dressings changed at the weekends by a District Nurse which my surgery should have been organising. Those two things woud have saved me a lot of discomfort, pain and distress.
When I first posted about my leg, I was very low in spirits. The wound clinic has been brilliant apart from one "Cruella de Nurse" whose patronising and threatening attitude set me back a bit when I was feeling vulnerable and depressed. My GP referred me for anxiety counselling as it was all getting me down a bit.
I suspect this could have been treated quicker and better but I can't substantiate that so I just have to move forward from here.
The lovely people on here kept me going through a very tough time. I shall be eternally grateful
How lovely to hear from you and for you to finally be seeing light at the end of a very long and painful tunnel. I hope you continue to improve.
Does anyone know what happened to Germanshepherdsmum? I think she was banned around the same time as Callistemon but hopefully she came back under another name too?
I miss her good advice on things legal
How very nice to hear from you Ferry with much better news.
Thanks for starting the thread Sarnia. I have missed posters too.
Gillybob, Fanny, Misadventure, quite a long list and I've only been on about 6? years.
Who was the gran who lived in a narrow boat? Then there was Missedout . Maybe they have moved on...
I’m so glad you’ve made excellent progress, Ferry.
. Your thread was very concerning. It really shouldn’t be so hard, should it? It would have cost the NHS far less if you’d been looked after correctly from the start. A stitch in time and all that.
Thank you for the info re Callistemon. I have to say, I’ve no idea who she might be now!

And of course not forgetting Gillybob(?) who was going through a dreadful time and was caring for her husband who was ill, and also helping her single daughter and grandchild. She was at her wits end and suddenly just left GN. I often wonder how she is getting on and hope her life got easier.
Yes I do sometimes think about this poor woman, as well. She lived in the North East, if I remember correctly. It was a dreadful time for her. I do hope things improved.
And she also worried about the staff who worked for her husbands company too, I think
. I’ve actually been thinking about her recently.

I think I see her post occasionally?
And Maddyone?
i will take a look for both
I cant see up to date posts for either. So perhaps I have got that wrong.
Fannyconforth hasn't been on here for quite a while. I miss her posts.
I also miss Trisher/Glorianny even though we fought like cat and dog.

So good to hear your positive news ferry23. 💐

Yes what happened to Callistemon?
I believe she’s living in the Caymen Islands after a lottery win.

Callistemon wasn't banned.
I do wish Germanshepherdsmum could come back.
There are several posters who ruffle a few feathers so why some are banned and others are not remains a mystery.
Germanshepherdsmum was always supportive and helpful to those who needed help and advice.
Why maddyone was banned is another mystery.
Banning posters when they are at their most vulnerable asking for support seems to be very wrong,
Maddyone posted on 5th February to say that she had at last got a date for her surgery. No further news as far as I am aware. 🤞

Yeh right.
Caymen Islands.
I might start to do the lottery again.
I often wonder what happened to a member who described how her DH who had dementia had tried to strangle her and she had ended up in hospital in a bad way whilst her DH was put in a care home.
Surely they have t’internet there!
Oh, the quote didn’t come through as well. That’s to Petra’s Caymans comment.
I am in regular contact with GSM. She is quite well and still reads the threads….
I can assure you, it was not her choice to leave….
I often wonder about morethan2 who had a very sad time when her DiL died. She was providing a lot of support for her grandchildren if I remember correctly.
Could GSM not come back with another name? I wish she would.

Would she change her ways if she came back?
I have no idea if GN would allow that, but if GSM changed her attitude from before[assuming that was what it was], did some grovelling perhaps, might that work for both sides?
Just a suggestion.
Fancythat
There’s more chance of Putin ending the war than GSM grovelling. And why should someone grovel 🤷♀️
