Autumn clothing

i wear the same clothes all year round - black trousers and coloured tops. i have lots of tops!
if i feel chilly then i've got a black short sleeved cardi to wear.
when it's colder and i'm going out i'll wear a thick cardigan - bought about 30 years ago!
i don't feel the cold and hate being bundled up especially when driving.
my clothes, although older, will probably do me for years yet.

Layers are excellent and today I just added a camisole under a short- sleeved t shirt, worn with a slightly longer linen skirt my hand made clothes are coming into their own. Tomorrow a long sleeved cotton dress. I am wearing bamboo knee highs on a daily basis

I needed two new elbow-sleeve length tops so I made one yesterday and one the day before, one in a cotton jersey heavier than t shirt fabric and the other is a bit heavier again, french-terry. I don`t think I will need to make anything more this year

Yesterday I heard someone quoting a bit of advice "before going shopping for something new, go shopping in your wardrobe!" I opened a drawer and found some sweaters I had forgotten I had. They were perfect for autumn wear, so I don't need to buy something new yet.

l have recently done the same thing found some nice stuff I had completely forgotten about.
Spent an afternoon on a wardrobe and cupboard deep dive and exploration.

Need a couple of new scarves and will look and feel snug.

I'll be hanging onto my summer wardrobe as long as possible with the addition of a cardigan or hoodie I love summer

Back in the spring I decided to look through the summer clothes I'd put away last year. The first thing I found was a pair of M&S crinkle cotton, cream, palazzo pants that I had no memory off at all. They were just what I wanted, but when did I buy them? They didn't seem to have been worn, presumably I picked them up in the sales and put them away for later.

I'm really glad I don't need anything new for the winter season, because every shop I look in has dull colours this year that don't suit me. Browns, sludgy greens or maroon. Not my cup of tea at all!

Cardigan weather for me- take it off when I'm warm, put it on when I'm cool!

The only things ive bought new are a quilted full length coat with a hood and some ankle boots for when I go walking on our local common when it's wet or damp. Everything else will still do for the coming season.

Another Vinted fan here. I buy and sell. Great to get rid of “ mistakes”, or things lying neglected in the wardrobe for a few years, to top up on a few bits and generally enjoy the process . If I buy something unsuitable then I pop it back on and resell it. Ive had some real bargains, my downfall being boots. Bought several pairs, new with tags, and spent peanuts. Love it.

I wish I knew how to use Vinted, can anyone give lessons please I give my clothes to Charity Shops but never bought anything from one. Just bought a sweatshirt half price from Fat Face and a short sleeved top in their sale, wrapped up for next spring. This year Autumn purchase will be a tank top unless I knit one, pair of new joggers and another pair of Birkenstocks. Enough jumpers and shirts but might have to buy jeans if I lose anymore weight. I love clothes and buy good brands but they last ages, one or two of my tops are 20 years old and my velvet trousers 10 years old.

I just buy on eBay these days. I worry about all the fast fashion sent to the third world, piles of the stuff, polluting their countries with stuff we almost certainly did not need in the first place!

I don't buy many clothes. About two years ago I did buy a few thermal garments and a lighweight Oodie and they are still going great. I do have an Autumn/ Winter wedding to attend and very much struggling with what to wear to those.

Microclimates in the UK Esmay. Last village I lived in is in a valley and people did get COPD from the damper air, including my late husband

Where I live now is on a ridge and there is much healthier air here

I wore a cotton jumper with linen trousers on Thursday. That is the first day since about last Easter time that I’ve worn anything with a sleeve. We have had an amazing summer.

Once Autumn is here I do like cozy jumpers, shoes rather than flip flops and different autumnal colours.

I only wear jumpers in the coldest weathers. Room temperatures can vary and I can easily take a cardigan or fleece on and off.
I’m going out for a posh place for lunch today so I need to decide what to wear. Most cardigans don’t really cut it for posh places.

I find it hard to get nice jumpers as I can't wear anything with wool, angora, alpaca, cashmere etc any animal fur or hair. They all make me itch even with a top underneath. So I'm stuck with acrylic, nylon or cotton unfortunately.
