My 11 year old dgd has inherited my tetchy skin. Using Zerobase as a shower gel helps but she hates using it. I’m hoping that someone can recommend a shower gel, and possibly a shampoo as she gets very sore behind her ears, that will soothe her skin but not feel so medical. She’s having a difficult time at the moment; nothing I can do about most of it but, with your help, I might be able to bring a little cheer in this area

Choose something that contains no perfume.

Really you should ask her GP or the practice nurse what would be advisable.

What suits one person, may well not suit someone else.

I used to know someone who suffered really badly because of eczema all over his body.

He used to get Aveeno products on repeat prescription which l don't think he didn't paid for.

He swore by all.of their products especially the shower wash.

I'm sure you can something sorted
fron reading the the good advice on these posts.

You’re right AuntieE, there it is a matter of trial and error but it helps to hear what other people have found works. I had never heard of Spots and Stripes but have now ordered some for my gd to try as I think it will appeal to her.

I find Aveeno products help .for skin and hair . Steroids don’t help me . Neither does astringent stuff. Some people like Ginger body shop but it doesn’t help me .

Definitely ask in your local health shop. There are many fragrant-free and chemical-free products available. Most are more expensive than those found in mainstream shops but so much better.

Hi - I get psoriasis since 13 yrs behind and in ears , scalp . I found best thing is to ignore if possible , keep moisturised and no SLS of perfume so use Zero base shower gels and non perfumed Faith in Nature shampoo ( no SLS / perfume/no itch) - works for me anyway

So many useful suggestions, but always check out contra-indications if other essential medicines are being taken.
Good luck.

We are a family of eczema sufferers prevention is the cure as such, we use creams and shampoos prescribed by doctor, the shampoo isn't the best smelling but it's brilliant, the creams you can use as a soap as well as a cream..
